The video will not help in either of those two situations, barring one exception.
Financial - A video of his wife engaging in a gangbang has absolutely nothing to do with any financial obligations whatsoever, especially when it occurred before the marriage. Really, please shed some light on how a gangbang before the marriage has any relevance at all to financial or property distribution issues.
You need to realize that bringing up things like this that happened before the marriage are almost entirely meaningless to divorce cases. This is notwithstanding the fact that he didn't know about it.
If you disagree with either of the above, feel free to give me objective reasons why it is relevant and how it would/should affect either of those two subjects. I'm relying on my experience as a lawyer whose practice is about 95% family law/divorce/custody cases, primarily centering upon high-conflict situations. What is your opinion based on?

Subjectively and practically, it is entirely relevant and applicable and useful in both financial and custodial negotiations and settlements. In a 730 Psychological Evaluation it would, and is, entirely admissible and would be allowed to be part of the body of evidence and subject to the psychologists report in regards to custodial issues. Your comments demonstrate to me that either you're not an attorney, or you're a misinformed law student, or you're merely pumping ignorant sunshine up people's asses.

Whether you want to believe it or not is up to you and not really any of my concern. So, if it suits you, go ahead and assume that we're both not attorneys, because it doesn't change my question to you:
Can you provide any examples, or even common sense logical reasoning, that would illustrate how a pre-marital sex tape would in any way affect a financial/property settle in a divorce case? Let's also assume that she did not contract an STD through that encounter, so no need to discuss health insurance either.
As far as the 730 psychological evaluation, what exactly do you think that will prove? "Oh, Your Honor, years before we were married my wife had a gangbang, therefore she shouldn't be allowed to see our child!" You've still got to link that (we will assume) one single encounter to somehow adversely affecting the child's best interests.
Simply having unusual sexual preferences, or a wild past, isn't relevant without linking it to the child's best interest. To be completely honest with you, this is the same kind of shitty argument I see from bitter spiteful women all the fucking time in my practice.
Again, if you're interested in actually providing some evidence to back up what you're saying, I'm all ears, because quite frankly it could become relevant to a future case at some point. Otherwise, you're no different than the countless redditor armchair lawyers who spout off legal nonsense based on how they feel, which is something I wouldn't expect to find in this subreddit.
Obtaining your goals in divorce (especially as a man) is accomplished by being cold, objective, logical, and strategic, and having an attorney who feels the same. It is not accomplished through blackmail, emotion, and blind spite. Trying to bring up a years-old sex tape is pretty much the very definition of ignoring relevant facts and going forward trying to drag the other person's name through the mud in a misguided attempt to "win". When I get involved in cases like that, guess who wins? Me and the other attorney. Despite our strong protestations and advice to our clients to not go down that road, they want to do it "for the principle of it," and they pay me thousands and thousands of dollars to gain nothing. When you're bankrupt and I'm traveling to Europe having fun on your dime, let me know if the "principle" was really worth it.

I have actually had a client do that before in a somewhat similar situation. No one was trying to use the sex tape as evidence or blackmail, but other party wanted an assurance, with built-in penalty of legal consequences, that the tape was gone and all known copies destroyed.

I guess you could characterize it like that. It was weird because my guy didn't even mention it until the other attorney, after we had already finished the written agreement, brought it up in a phone call. I discussed it with my guy and he said, "Oh yeah, I forgot about that." (It was hidden away in the house, which he kept). So really the tape didn't affect the litigation while it was ongoing. It was a strange situation all around.

But, just to play devil's advocate here - and please bear with me - I think it wouldn't hurt the guy to talk to, and this is key, the RIGHT type of therapeutic counselor. Maybe even group therapy with other men who made a big mistake and are paying the price for it.
Granted, I know that the RIGHT counselor is not easy to find because of the anti-male agenda that is pervasive in that culture. Very much so. This is probably the socially learned part. im actually disgusted by the responses from "men" in that thread. seriously, this isnt a case of cheating once or making out with another guy that hes blowing out of proportion. she had a gangbang on camera and to his knowledge she enjoyed the hell out of it. most "normal" women probably never take this fantasy from imagination to reality, and those that do - in my opinion, are quite different to your average gal. now, im not saying shes a slut and deserves to be shamed more than the average entitled woman, but what i do 100% believe in is that she has more than likely broken their marriage due to her own possible shame/embarrassment of haaving engaged in this kind of activity. as he stated, he has no issue with the fact it occurred, but rather the evidence that she probably has a lot more secrets that have been kept.
personally, i can identify with his feelings and think he is 100% justified in his reaction. also, its clear that she is trying as best she can to move past the issue and make it about their sex life rather than the lying. i know if my wife had been refusing to do certain sexual acts and took such offense to individual positions, let alone the acts themselves, it would be extreme cause for a sit-down conversation and if i did not come away from it with at least several revelations as to the legitimate reasons why, id be out the fucking door.
what the hell is wrong with these "men" that they think this is in any way OK on his wifes part? why is it OK in their eyes to shame this guy because he let his anger come out and actually spoke his mind? personally, i have major respect for anyone who after this long a time, and this big a revelation can actually manage a conversation at all without destroying something or just leaving immediately after the discovery. there should not be any shame in speaking ones mind, even if its hurtful. the words he said or could have possibly said are nothing compared to the betrayal of his wife, who figured that for whatever reason, it was OK to not engage in sex acts that her husband obviously had desire for without giving adequate explanation as to why, or with apparently zero compromise. this would be very different if the video was that of a sexual assault, or if the nature of the sex had been an attack. there is a huge difference between feeling shame over a perceived mistake, and the shame involved with being sexually assaulted. this was not an assault, and its clear from what i read that his wife decided that because she felt bad, it meant she was allowed to forgo the kinds of sex her husband (and most normal men) desired. unacceptable in my eyes, but massive respect for having restraint enough to think of his kid, and not immediately lawyer up and dump her.
i seriously dont get how men can hamster this badly. it makes no sense to me. i guarantee if any of the men in that thread experienced the same trauma in their own lives, theyd have a hell of a lot less restraint than OP did.

This is not really about sec but really shame. The fact is most people have shame when it comes to sex, especially women. This is one reason why women seek the beta to wash their shame. Unfortunately, it's not a longterm remedy. She clearly felt that someone would judge her unfairly if they knew her past. But also she is not proud of her past. His demands are insensitive. And clearly she knew exactly what would happen since he's filing for divorce for something that didn't happen during their marriages. She also knew what would happen when guys treat in lewd sexual contexts (i.e they won't marry her) . And she didn't want that to happen. This problem is deeper than just red pill theory. This is really about dealing with shame as it relates to sex in a relationship. It isn't always possible to find out if a woman is a whore, or will be one I a relationship. But every woman, esp in the western world, has a level of shame when it comes to sex.
This is also an example of being too alpha for a situation. She knew that he couldn't handle it, and even though he said it would be ok if she told him. That's a boldface lie. Even if she could tell him, how does that conversation come up? "Hi honey I fucked 100 guys I college will coked up, and I love 2 dicks in my ass. ". Not going to happen. Why did he need a college porn to bring this up? So she knew that he would judge her, he knew that he had rules, so she acted the part. The fact that he stayed, and married her proved her actions were worthwhile. In this case he needed to be more accepting of her "flaws", and not to think that sexual acts was are about changing attraction levels. He also doesn't realize that sexual counseling can help with these very issues. I wish him luck.
And as a cautionary tale, find out if a woman loves herself, and accepts her past. And everyone lies, or tells partial truths, their motive for lying is more important than the lie.
