So when I first started along TheRedPill I wanted to get a girl I had oneitis for to love me.
I lifted. Ate right. Got educated. Toughened up my frame.
It was inevitable: for this transformation to be complete, I had to sacrifice my dream. My "happily ever after." That was the price I needed to pay.
"I'm too good for her now." Very painful words to say out loud at the time.
And what did I receive in return? Control. Control over my own life and my own destiny. I wasn't going to end up being a victim bumbling through life, experiencing seemingly random blessings and curses as time went on.
Of course, the general mystery of life was lost. I knew the knobs and levers that needed to be manipulated to steer an encounter in a certain direction. Failing a satisfactory outcome, I knew where I fell short and how I could improve.
The biggest thing that changed was that no matter what, I was always accountable for the direction and outcome of my life. Even if a seemingly random tragedy befell me, I could most likely trace it back to a seemingly innocuous moment where I zigged where I should've zagged.
Of course, like anyone else, I let myself get comfortable. Lost the abs. Stopped going to the gym. Gained some weight. Stopped reading here. Stopped talking to women.
You could say for all intents and purposes I just went back to the way I was before the redpill.
But with one key difference: I had the key to the next level.
That key is the understanding that as men, we are always accountable for our own actions and our own story. My life is the way it is because that's how I chose it to be. No one else.
And every so often, as I walk through my seemingly boring life, an opportunity will come by. A job offer. A girl's number.
Before, I would ignore it in my beta days.
Now? I go for it. Because this dick won't suck itself and it doesn't matter to me if she's 18 and I'm twice her age.
Sometimes you have these thoughts where you're deep into the redpill, that you wish you could go back to sleep and have your dreams.
Let me tell you, if that's what you want. Fine.
But remember, TheRedPill is about controlling your own life.
Some of us think we don't want to be Redpilled, until we're presented with a problem or an opportunity that demands us to be so.
You could always choose to fail the test. You can always choose to miss the shot. But that's the difference between being Redpilled and bluepilled.
When you're bluepilled, shit just happens and you don't get a say at all in how things go. When you're Redpilled, you get to write the story.
I'd rather have the choice that the Redpill offers you in life than to be a slave to the direction of the world. So next time you're resenting the redpill, remember that you can always go back to the shitty life you had before.
And that time before the redpill? You would've given anything to have the redpill ready at that moment.
I guess what I'm trying to say is that you gotta pick your poison. The Redpill doesn't have to be all encompassing in your life. I'd just rather have the redpill and not need it, rather than need it and not having it.
And go figure: a few words here, and a few passed shit tests there, and I end up not really needing the redpill all that much because my life isn't in a free-fall anymore. It's a lot like buying insurance: I don't get insurance because I plan to crash, I get insurance so that if shit happens I'm prepared to handle it and not have my plan for my life disrupted beyond all repair.
Take the Redpill so you end up never needing it. Because we're all here for the same reason: we desperately needed the Redpill at a certain moment of our lives and we didn't have it.

In trp I really like the idea to use sex desire as motivation to improve your life. It is a some sort of hack to your brain.

The title says it all. Great post. If you want to make $100,000 a year then you can, you just have to put in the work. If you want to fuck HB8s and hotter then just go for those women. Just examples but this is what sets red pilled guys apart from the crowd; they don’t wait for a promotion or for Ms Right to come along. They make shit happen themselves. Have a great weekend guys.
GoingToMakeItBrahs 5y ago
I make $100K but have $4500 in bills per month, yes it’s my fault, but it was because I tried a business idea and failed. I’m trying another that will be validated before I put in big money. Live and learn, this is battle for control over my own life.
NextBad 5y ago
> Even if a seemingly random tragedy befell me, I could most likely trace it back to a seemingly innocuous moment where I zigged where I should've zagged.

Blaming yourself for abuse and tragedy and a uncontrollable event is trying to achieve control when you clearly can't.
This isn't empowerment this is working ass backwards.

> , and I end up not really needing the redpill all that much because my life isn't in a free-fall anymore.

The red pill is reality, but men are so damage emotionally that this is offensive to them because it offends a very small amount of women. It's based off the movie the matrix in which neo can take the blue pill and keep being lied too or the red pill and learn the truth.

As human we are typically self serving creatures if we understand that doing xyz gets abc than we will do it.

> I lifted. Ate right. Got educated. Toughened up my frame.

These are all very different things, but not red pill related, education is within the realm of blue pill ideology, your life , is your responsibility

Also, being woke means: I own my own problems. Most people aren’t ready for that level of responsibility.

I’m a natural tactician, not a strategist. So staying redpilled is hard since I can just wing it with lots of situations in life and come out on top. There’s no control is such life tho, events and days just happen to you and you don’t know why. However I’m improving.

Sometimes you just want to ride the waves man.
jetsdude 5y ago
100%. So much is improved by lifting. It truly is the catalyst for improvement in all other categories. The pill came to me when i needed it most, but the single greatest change i made was lifting more. But like you said, I needed to take that control back (or take responsibility) for my own life.

One of the biggest fallacies pushed unto men is that their body and their mind is separate.
Your body is your mind. Train your body, and your mind will follow.

I enjoyed this post. I'm on a similar journey from being in good shape to getting out of shape and now back on track.
I think where people can get stuck is at the point they realize they have control of most things in their life. This realization can also mean that most of their failures in their life are their fault. This can be tough to reconcile--What do you mean I'M the reason I don't have girls, money, or the things I want? If these things or lack thereof are because of me than it means I'm a failure...
Taking responsibility for yourself is the most courageous thing a person can do.
WarriorMonkMode 5y ago
You know what they say, trying is the first step to failure. So don't try.
Kidding. You can never win if you've never lost.
bgovern 5y ago
This is a really going point. Most of the criticisms of Red Pill point to people who either misunderstand or misapply the principles. The most common seems to be people who use it as an excuse to act dishonorably and selfishly. It's really about being the best 'you' you can be, and valuing yourself so that you are in control and live the life you choose to live.
Women being attracted to you when you do that is a side effect, not the goal.
The_Dude_Man101 5y ago
Great post, all I see is game reports and hair brain theory’s about pussy. Nobody in RP talks about what it takes to be successful and the effort and more importantly the STRUGGLE it will take to achieve your goals ( hint: it’s a never ending mountain). Anywho less game reports & how to be a narcissist 101 and more sidebar and introspection on how to get ahold of ones life. What helped me the most of reading “The Book of Pook” if you haven’t read it, read it. If you have read it before, read it again.

Good advice! I also recommend The Rationale Male to actually understand specific dynamics of our society. It’s very theoretical and a great to understand society and why AFCs are AFCs and women act the way they act.
DerpJungler 5y ago
The Rational Male is a given. It's the first piece a man should read imo.
On this matter, I'd like to suggest a book that was recommended to me by a fellow TRP user and contributor: "Ride The Tiger". It relates a lot to what OP is referring to in this post.
juice_bomb 5y ago
Fuck yeah, smash those 18yr olds man. I find it funny when woman my age (26) try to shame me for sleeping with 18yr olds because they are missing out on me. "she's just a baby still" "you're taking advantage of her" the hamster spins.
scissor_me_timbers00 5y ago
Late 20s here and honestly I find it hard to relate to 18 year olds. I don’t think I would date younger than 21. I guess I would if the right opportunity came up. But I still find the idea strange. A college freshman is still very much a girl. A college senior is more of a woman, but still youthful and supple. Idk, just my thoughts.
juice_bomb 5y ago
Of course, I'm with you but I don't date the younger ones, just a pump n dump situation. I'll only date women who I connect with on a depper level.
ntvirtue 5y ago
How many women have you been with that contributed ANYTHING other than their vagina?
scissor_me_timbers00 5y ago
In my experience it’s still important to be able to relate somewhat. Not talking about any soulmate bullshit. I’m just saying 18 year old girls are difficult to even relate to for a guy approaching 30.

I have difficulty relating to women of any age might as well fuck the hot one

Andgelyo 5y ago
Short and sweet. One of the greatest posts I’ve ever seen. The red pill is not about our sexual needs fulfilled by women. Not about getting in shape. Not about becoming social and having multitudes of friends. Not about making double the money we make. The red pill was always about control. Freeing ourselves from society. Freeing ourselves from women. Freeing ourselves from religion and even family. Living how we want and not dictated from others. Great post.
RightHandWolf 5y ago
The Red Pill is about self-control. I believe Confucius observed that for a man to achieve control of a Nation, he must first have control of his household; in order to have control of his household, he must have control of his family; to have control of his family, he must first have control of himself.
Going by memory, so it might not be word perfect, but that's the gist of it. Self mastery is the master key of keys that unlocks everything. It requires the most deadly determination, because you must be able to conquer the self doubt and half-assed rationalizations we can be subject to. It isn't easy, and the battle is never going to be an absolute victory, but if you knuckle down hard enough, you will be far ahead of most of the competition - and that is what life really is.
That's why the "participation trophy" mentality of the last few decades has been so toxic. When people have things handed to them with no effort or no hard work, those things are unappreciated. A generation has been hopelessly spoiled by this entitlement mentality, and what we're seeing now is only the beginning of what is to come. Things are going to get a lot worse before they can get better. It will fall to those of you who are truly awake to remake the world . . . or what's left of it.
showerdudes9 5y ago
”For a man to achieve control of a Nation, he must first have control of his household; in order to have control of his household, he must have control of his family; to have control of his family, he must first have control of himself.” Damn. I love that quote so much.
RightHandWolf 5y ago
The version I quoted is from The Once and Future King, when Merlin is instructing Arthur on how to be a wise and benevolent ruler. The original version is:
"To put the world right in order, we must first put the nation in order; to put the nation in order, we must first put the family in order; to put the family in order, we must first cultivate our personal life; we must first set our hearts right."

Is that control or illusion of control?
This is actually philosophy question. Do you believe in fate, or destiny?
Some do. Some don’t.
What makes you happy? Decided your own fate in choices that both suck? Or have illusion of freedom to participate in the questionnaire that designed in such way your choice is intentionally limited?
I never asked people yes or no, for this specific purpose. I always designed my questions in order to gain upper hand. To give people the false sense of control.
If I am design the question, I don’t care who answers them. Choice architecture do open your mind to a lot of answer we see today that seems unanswerable.
Like poverty, is actually not what we think it is. Poverty actually have to exist in order for other part of society to function due to competition. But the life quality of poverty reveals the power of the nation. US poverty and Somalia poverty live in completely different world.
I accept we have limited choice in life. I pictured we have around 3 or 4 major time line decision that can actually seal your fate.
Every 8-11 year increment. You will face a major life decision. If you born rich and have perfect top geographic accent and speak perfect English, you can grab it earlier (due to elite college, or network to start business)
Your last take off time is determined by how healthy are you. So if you are 70 and healthy you can have one more career take off, like start your business etc. but if you are NOT healthy after 50, you kind of doomed. Because you would not have energy to last in order to focus again.
This is how I interpreted the illusion of choice. Everything in his world must obey to the superficial attachment of “perception” and “will” Will can shape the perception and perception by others shape it to reality.
You have to convince others to believe in order to convince MORE to believe in you. You don’t have to believe it, just need to shape the perception based on your sheer will. Let your will be strong and help you to shape your reality by shaping the perception of others.
Everything, is superficial and opinionated. Your will make them or doom them. Play smart and hide your weakness.
WarriorMonkMode 5y ago
Sometimes the only choice we have is the choice between a plane wreck, a car wreck, or a train wreck.
Sometimes having control means you never have to end up making that choice. That's why we need the knowledge of TheRedPill. To avoid these traps and to turn them into winning Gambits.
What makes man equal is their birth into inequality. We are all important in our own way , thus we are all unimportant in the grand scheme of things. Some people are born to be blossoms, some people are born to be a simple leaf on the tree. Therefore we all have a "destiny" and yet no one really does.
Ultimately, nobody has control over their own life. Your life is a candle and you're burning the wick. Nothing you do can stop you from running out of candle. We are all born to die. That's why it's important for men to live like they're already dead: so that they don't die without ever really living.
Cods_gift_to_reddit 5y ago
This is a weird comment. You been on shrooms?
uwey 5y ago
That is actually one core of Japanese Samurai. If you live like you die while pursuing death as you treat life lightly (get into argument can get you killed) so you may live your life as full.
He sounds nihilistic. That is ok. No choice itself is a form of choice.
For I do not like death by guillotine. But for I would not try to stop people drop knife on top of their neck willingly.
I refuse to play god as my firm defiance to reject the decision for other life. I know by making a choice itself is a choice. But I know I follow the path that I am aware, so my will is the guide.
When everything dies, “Will” will remain. Most people don’t believe existence of will, they will live on their convenience and proximity. That is why reliance on superficial and perception is the crown jewel of how to live a life to be less restricted. Because power will be in your hand, when you know how to manipulate others.
Make no mistake. People know these rules. Just not in the way we learns with struggle, some learned naturally because their environment.
Rule never change, because the rule exist due to the will of human, and the value of opinion of others exist for the same reason.
Nothing matter if all human activity seize to exist. When everyone dies and all human disappear, no will and opinion will ever matters.
Before that day happen. Believe in opposition is the key to live free and master your fate. If you can master others your can master your own.
Or perhaps a life to pursuit maximum misery is the goal? There may be something in the bottom of abyss, but will anyone survive then journey is a mystery.
Heart of darkness will make you never the same.

No idea why lifting gets so much credit around here honestly. When I was sleeping with five to seven women at a time, I didn't work out at all. When I would add two or three new girlfriend's per week into my rotation, I didn't lift at all. I was too busy kicking butt during medical residency and spinning plates.
Now that I'm in the best shape of my life, 9.5%bf via PodPod, V-taper with a small waist, strong, I am sleeping with much less women. Despite going to the gym 4-6 times per week. I could easily go back to that lifestyle by choice but I am more interested in language learning and business pursuits.
Before I knew anything about the red pill or PUA, I lived my own version of these when I lived for 6 years in Hawaii. I did CrossFit for maybe one of the years and the rest of the time I was just traveling, buying real estate, and meeting women.
Lifting gives you confidence, but it doesn't give you game, status, or money. I would venture to say that it marginally helps you along the path to those things.
You can be happy, successful, and great with women with that ever even hearing about the red pill. lts just a "oh yeah, this is obvious" afterthought after having already experienced this in real life.
If you are an inquisitive and smart man you will learn the stuff naturally, without any of the labels. Rell Pill concepts and lifting is the 100,000 foot view, the very rudimentary (obvious) basics if you will. I am honestly surprised people need to spend years reading the stuff without having already learned it from experience.
Auvergnat 5y ago
You’re totally right of course. The red pill, like its older brother PUA, is (was?) a community of guys who don’t know anything about women getting together to learn about how to get women. And the core conclusion, as in the words of Pook was “more masculinity”. Now masculinity is a lot of things but an obvious one is physical strength, hence “lift”. So the number one step you give to guys who are completely clueless is to lift and read the sidebar to see what else they can do to develop their masculinity.
If you were a naturally masculine male with a good understanding of women, game, assertiveness, maybe a high local status, etc., then sure lifting is perhaps not the optimal immediate first step and you may not even need it at all. But the average guy who stumbles on TRP and really really needs it is clueless and during the time it’ll take him to read and digest the pill and understand that it’s all about masculinity, they can already do that one super basic improvement. Unfortunately, a lot of them are so clueless that they take that first tip and conclude that it’s all there is to it and that women only want muscles... but hey we just trust that they’ll eventually get it.
bakamoney 5y ago
Lifting/Exercise/Diets are also something you can start right NOW.
Degrees takes years. Learning a skill takes years and equipment and what not reasons you can tell yourself.
Getting fit is much more immediate.
IBeMadToo 5y ago
But you already sounded successful and atleast had a frame. The majority of the guys starting here are coming from their low. That's why lifting is number 1 as it teaches discipline.
[deleted] 5y ago
Good points guys. I think it definitely teaches you routine and discipline which will translate into other areas of your life. However, think the girls I met could care less if I was skinny or looked like a bodybuilder as I do now.
I noticed that I was very "devil may care" and not risk-averse at all during my 'PUA-ish' time in Hawaii, and women were very attracted to that for whatever reason.
It was very strange, but I remember specifically counting 12 girls in a row where we had sex before we even kissed. That's why I was sort of laughing when people were discussing how you initiate kissing the girl and whatnot. As soon as a girl asks "where do you live?, do you live by yourself?" you knew it was in the bag.
I think as we get older we don't need sex as often and other things become more important.
tyronethejabrone 5y ago
No it just makes you look better. And it’s a positive feedback loop from there.
IBeMadToo 5y ago
100% agree. Discipline being a part of that loop.
Short-changedChad 5y ago
You don’t understand why lifting gets so much credit here because you falsely equate its pursuit to the desire to be successful with women.
Lifting is about NOTHING else but mastery of pain. There are very few things a man can’t achieve in this world, both physical and mental, if he is willing to suffer through pain. Success with women, a physical presence, the confidence to test yourself against other challenges in life; all stem from the resolve you learn by going for that extra rep when everything is telling you that you can’t.
[deleted] 5y ago
It's the opposite. Read some of the comments just on here. They credit lifting as being the number one factor that improved their success with women. Their words, not mine.
Short-changedChad 5y ago
You can’t lift without grappling with pain. You’re putting the cart before the horse.
