Every other girl I seem to meet sooner or later claims she has 'anxiety'. Some take pills for that others just power through. I don't get it, we all get anxiety depending on context, is this some kind of mental disease they all seem to have or just an excuse for shitty behavior?

It's just another way of declaiming responsibility for her actions. If she has "anxiety" then what she does or doesn't do isn't her own fault.
Also, there is a book called iGen the OP should read.

It's because women aren't designed to take on the workload or the nature of work expected of them in the 21 century.
They're also not designed to be completely separated from the protection of their tribe/loved ones in urban jungles teaming with threats, working and raising families in isolation.
They're also not designed to be overstimulated by a constant barrage of info and emotional triggers via smartphones, TV, and the broader advertising industry.
They're also not designed to be subjected to the pitfalls of their own sexual agency in environments with too many options, too little regulation, and consequently too many traumatic relationships (trauma they deny to "be like men").
But instead of addressing all of this holistically from the bottom up, instead of telling women they might want to reconsider their lifestyle choices, psychiatrists by and large will tell them something is fundamentally wrong with them and send them off with soul-numbing drugs. Misaligned incentives.
The number of women on mood stabilizing meds in the US is shocking. Absolutely shocking. I don't know how all public discourse isn't dominated by the urging that we've done something very wrong with our society to render so many people so ill. It's insanity.
I could go on and on...

General victim mentality in the millennial Western Hemisphere

Maybe it’s all the god damn social media. It takes the crazy emotional default state of women and makes it worse probably.

No shit, every chick i have on snap will post "fuck my life" followed by #depression or #anxiety
OfficerWade 5y ago
I’m guessing this is the same breed of women who claim to be introverts to excuse themselves for never leaving the house or as a default in case they need an alibi

Gotta have that victim card!

It's a combination of things. We all know that women tend to be drama queens and are chronic attention seekers. But the whole anxiety epidemic is also on the rise with both sexes. We have to remember that this is the generation of "daddy issues" and broken homes.
Consequently, men will grow up to become either sociopaths or betas/omegas.
Women will exhibit promiscuous and BPD behaviours. And these women will find a endless world of sexual options and it will kick them in the ass over time. They will fall hard in love with CHADs but still want to be a "wife" later on, and end up resenting their "amazing" Beta husband. It becomes a vicious circle.
In other words, we live in a fucked up time.

Attention. They want to feel like the world has CAUSED bad things to happen to them, and that their bad experiences are not due to poor choices, but ‘anxiety’. It makes them feel special, even when fucking up.
There’s no person, male or female, who never felt ‘butterflies in their stomach’. I wish I could say ‘anxiety’ the next time I go in for a job interview, and not get laughed out the building.
Anxiety is also incredibly popular with white women in the western world.

Women get anxious a lot easier than men do. It's easier to say it's not her fault when it actually really isn't by explaining it in a way men can understand.
I've noticed about 50% of the people that say they have anxiety actually have phsyical reactions to anxiety that are visible , so some of them I believe just get anxious in their head but are able to hide it like a normal human while others actually get panic attacks.
gbnz87 5y ago
Everyone does, lots of men and women all claim to have anxiety issues. It's just a shroud they can use to not do anything they don't want to or something that is uncomfortable.
They take tablets or do anything to hide any negative feelings. It's just a shame as there are people out there that have genuine issues but all these people just make up symptoms just because they want to feel good 24/7
Whatdoin27 5y ago
It's so easy for people who don't experience it at all to say the shit you all do though. You don't know it until you truly face it. It's a fucking bitch.
However, I don't let it slow me down. Some days I just want to be left the fuck alone. Then there's people who claim they have it and purposefully do stupid shit and claim that's the reason why. I see girls do this way more than men.
Men mostly don't even admit that shit at all.

Being a victim is cool. They need to be led, by a masculine man, and they need to spanked when they're naughty.
boredathome19 5y ago
You greatly overestimate the confidence of women. Their lack of confidence makes them believe it's anxiety.
Also anxiety -> Illness and not their fault. Lack of confidence -> Don't be such a bitch.
It should be pretty clear what a woman's hamster will choose to say.
resnine 5y ago
Anxiety is basically a blanket-term nowadays. Have a bad feeling about something? Anxiety...
SalporinRP 5y ago
It's due to some confluence of rampant victim mentality culture in the west, wanting attention, removing responsibility from herself for her actions, and the fact that technology has made people socially stunted. The percentage each of those 4 things makes up of a girl's "anxiety" depends on the girl.
Victim Mentality:
Wanting Attention:
Removing Responsibility From Herself:
Social Stunting
It sucks because there are people out there who truly do have anxiety and all these dumb thots with their "anxiety" just give them a bad name.
resnine 5y ago
bro, nail on the head with that one! Being a victim and weak nowadays is like being a winner in the past. It gives people power and control sadly, you'll have all these white-knights and people come to your rescue. Not only that, winners are shamed and guilted for being winners.

In a way, everyone has / gets anxiety. It's like being excited. Everyone feels it, but some experience it more intensely than others.
With that said, the way anxiety is being expressed in modern society is that it's becoming an excuse to avoid basic human things like interacting with people or being in public places.
Anxiety is normal (to a degree), like being nervous about getting on a giant roller coaster.
Some people claim anxiety when they're scared about basic human functions like being around people or socializing. They don't want to seem weak or autistic for being afraid to interact so they hamster to themselves and others that they have a clinical problem.
