@Elvis Quite the epic tale. Yeah I have seen the forums, think one dude is taking care of 90% of the posts there

Not purged, they left on their own volition, I suspect some of them still participate here under different names. I also suspect they didn't really "left" they only changed strategy.
Hey! What has happened here over the past 8months or so? Seems like the GLO boys have been purged or something?
@LilStrasser just watching the podcast for the first time, getting a good laugh out of it. Can't stand that jelly beans yogurt eating slob to be honest
@TheRedPike thanks for the answer, appreciate it. I want to get into photography for fun, might try to make some side money out of it.

@TheNorman Is it something you've just kind of always done anyway because you like taking pictures? Or is this something you want to turn into a revenue stream?
If it's the former, just keep doing it. Do it a lot. A very long time ago, I spent two summers doing site shoots for the film industry (basically the cinematographer and his assistants use them to plan for setting up the shooting of the actual film). The key wasn't taking good shots. It was sifting through the bazillion you took for the good ones to pass along. So take a fuckton of shots and be ready to spent time with them. Eventually you will develop an eye for it.
If it's the latter, most people do it as a side gig, particularly women that are primary care takers of the kids. The usually don't mind talking about it, because it isn't a particularly jealous industry (part time and all). So find one and ask questions. You can take a good number of pictures, but people will eventually get impatient so you have to make better use of time. The big money is in taking pics of kids and/or their events like birthday parties. Parents get money stupid about this stuff (source: I've been money stupid about this stuff).
