Self improvement can be simple!
Step 1: Make new self-improvement goals for this month.
Step 2: Do your best to achieve your goals.
Step 3: Next month report back on your progress as well as make new goals for the proceeding month.
Step 4: Become a more awesome person!
Factors for success for creating good goals:
Quantify your goals ("I want to lose 5lbs or 2% body fat" is a better goal than "I want to lose weight".)
Make goals that are realistic. Don't try to lose 50lbs in one month.
Make goals that are sufficiently challenging, push yourself.
Create a specific plan for reaching your goals.
Your goals can have to do with anything that you want to work on.
Good luck!

Mine is to stop swearing! I use the F word and say shit too much. Very unlady like. Need to expand my vocabulary.
Ironiaton 7y ago
We're in it together! I'm thinking of a way to punish myself for each swearword. Maybe some push-ups. Enough to be painful. Maybe twenty per word.

I read online for tips that a good thing to do is wear an elastic band on your wrist and every time you swear pull the eslastic so that it slaps you. Might be hard to do push-ups in public if you swear while you’re out!! Also read a good thing to try to curb the swearing is to not swear in your head. So get rid of it in your thoughts too. :)

Yes, I swear so much in my head, or between my teeth! But I'm not doing push-ups for that, too much... :D But I'll try the elastic band, thanks!

Goals for the month:
Edit: changed goal of working to 3-4 times a week to focus more on being consistent.
TheLowerEye 7y ago
Just a quick note: depending on how intensively you plan to work out, 5 times a week might be too much. What's important with exercise and nutrition is consistency. And consistency might be hard to maintain if your goal is to work out 5 times a week. Just some food for thought

That’s a good point. I’ve been doing quick videos on YouTube that are maybe 10-20 minutes long but they’re tough. If I don’t do that, I do an uphill sprint and a weight training. But it might be an in unrealistic goal. I will change my goals to 3-4 times a week and if I do more, then great! Thank you!

I like how you set a time to the amount of housework instead of just tasks.

My goals for the month:
- Reduce waist by .5in
- Learn 1 new recipe / week
- Read a little (in print, not digital) every day
- Write/draw in journal every day
- Make a music playlist of my all-time favorite songs
- Start a homemaking binder

Hi there, just curious... what is a homemaking binder and what would one of these contain? I like your goals a lot.

This month, and the next, is all about moving to a different country and traveling around and visiting relatives in two countries while our home, or everything in it, sails across the Atlantic. So not a good time for anything involving control over diet, or regular excercise.
But my goal is to stop swearing. In English as well as in my own language. And to stop shouting when upset or angry (good trick I've found that really works: whisper instead. Somehow it does the same thing, and can be much more efficient, especially with kids.)

I lost 10lbs in May so I am aiming for 10 more in June. Reaching a my goal of 130 by Oct. At this rate it will be by August.
1 spin class at least per week. I started the month with a 5:30am spin before work.
Get a raise. My annual review is next week!
Continue eating clean no less than 6 days a week. Home made meals - every meal. (My work has a full kitchen).
Alot of changes this month...Office move, my daughter starts summer camp, etc. So to keep my family and my team happy through the changes and take challenges in stride.
organicsunshine 7y ago
I want to follow up on a few things.
I am now down 15lbs in 5 weeks! Eating clean. Half way there way ahead of schedule! No stopping now!
Did my spin class this week.
I got my raise! Moving further into upper management which is great.
Took some hits this past week. Lost a family member. Got bad news about another's health (terminal). Good news about another. 1 of my direct employees gave 2 weeks notice but is positive. It was a commute thing. All will be well.
