Step 3: Next month report back on your progress as well as make new goals for the proceeding month.
Step 4: Become a more awesome person!
Factors for success for creating good goals:

Quantify your goals ("I want to lose 5lbs or 2% body fat" is a better goal than "I want to lose weight".)

Make goals that are realistic. Don't try to lose 50lbs in one month.

Make goals that are sufficiently challenging, push yourself.
- Create a specific plan for reaching your goals.
Your goals can have to do with anything that you want to work on.

Alright, I've got four main goals for this month:
1 - spend 2 hours in the morning and 3 hours in the afternoon working on my thesis. On days where I find it difficult to stay on task or get started, use the pomodoro method. On days where I don't manage to complete two hours of work in the morning, add the remaining time to the afternoon.
2 - dedicate 1 hour to exercise (running by the canal [weather permitting], stretches, squats, core exercises) each Tuesday and Thursday morning, approximately 9-10am. (Starting next Tuesday when I get back home from visiting family.)
3 - start getting dressed and putting on makeup in the morning, just after my boyfriend leaves for work. I hope that this will help me feel more productive.
4 - complete basic household tasks in the morning, not the afternoon: feed the chickens, do the dishes, do the laundry, water the plants, sweep/vacuum.
My goals are mostly "do things in the morning!" because I have a bad habit of being lazy all morning then rushing to get everything done in the afternoon. Bad KittenLoves_!

I've been on a pretty good streak lately. I'm very committed to self-improvement and I've been seeing the benefits. Anyway - here are my April goals!
Lose 4 pounds. This one might be tough because I'm going on a cruise at the end of the month. So much good food to tempt me.
Host a successful dinner/game night. I'm so excited for this one.
Continue working towards being a soft place to land.

Do you have a visual around this? I find it's very helpful for me when this opportunity arises (to be a soft place to land) that I imagine exactly what kind of place I am -- I am a warm beach off a jungle of Mexico with soft sand... very isolated... gorgeous estate & trees all around, but no people... with loud, crashing waves that sometimes become very quiet & peaceful -- exciting, but in a white-noise sort of way... also, there are many secret rocky coves for private hideouts... I have towels, umbrellas, water, a flask full of nice tequila, & good, fat sandwiches : )

I'm also reading the stranger! I read it in French a couple of years ago when I was learning the language, reading it in English now I'm realizing how much I missed haha.

So we completed 15 days and then took a 2 day break for the start of Passover, and now are back on. Honestly at this point I am over it! I want cheese and pizza!
But I do feel great and clearheaded, and my bloating has disappeared. I had lost a couple pounds but Im quite sure I gained it all back because of 2 days of matzo ball soup and black and white cookies.
Hoping to finish strong before my birthday!

Here are the goals I aim to achieve this month...
Fitness: I'd like to focus on obtaining toned abs; of course that won't happen over the course of just April, but I plan to start by completing a 30 day workout routine, mainly for consistency.
Skincare: I've been using the Cetaphil cleanser for my face, which works well with my combination skin :). I plan on establishing a more solid routine as I start using another product and slowly working up towards the third one for this month.
Adult Responsibilities: I'm currently on the lookout for job openings, as I'd like to work on being more financially independent in the future. Not only do I plan on revising my resume and scheduling an appointment with my campus career coordinator, but also apply to various job positions as well. I'm also studying for my driver's permit, and intend on taking the test sometime in the very near future.
WELLNESS: I will also see it fit to begin meditating and practicing my morning yoga routine on a regular basis. This will require me to have an early, consistent sleep schedule, so I plan on sleeping by 10:30, 11 at night, at the latest. It's also important that I set aside some time to implement strategies in combating my anxiety and make goals every week or two. For instance, I intend on speaking in class in the next week; just thinking about this makes me incredibly nervous, though me speaking wouldn't last more than 15 seconds. So that's what I'm working towards. And by the end of the month, I'd like to speak for, maybe, 30 seconds, and come prepared for the given question I intend on asking for that upcoming lecture.
SELF-CARE: I intend on using this month on taking proper care on my body, both in and out. Not only do I want to improve my hygiene/grooming skills, but also instill more positive affirmations into my mind.
