I'm posting this out of curiosity because I'd like to examine an issue. I often hear women on here complain about not having friends/not being able to make friends. I have about 5 very close friends and maybe about 20 girls on my phone I could probably text right now to go hang out.
Why do some RPW have difficulty with friends but not others? I am curious to see if it is based on geography, because usually when a woman on here complains about this topic, she lives in DC or NYC, so I wonder if it's a big city vs. small city issue. If you have a lot of friends, please state it, and your general location/ size of town.
I will start:
Yes, I have a lot of friends Small city (Louisiana)
And go:

I've moved many times in my life and I have managed to make friends in each new place I have lived. I don't have a hard time making friends. Its harder to find quality people and sometimes it takes time to figure out where they land. Once I vet a friend I'm pretty loyal to them.

That's a really good point! My friends are pretty feminine for the most part but I have some who are kind of lacking but I just sort of ignore it.

My friends consist of:
-One big group of married couples (some single girls though) -One girlfriend who is married and 10 years older than me -One married couple 6 years older than me (I'm obviously friends with the wife first but also the husband) -One girlfriend my age who is half SJW half RPW -One colleague, a SJW but she has a fun personality and she's the one I vent my work frustrations to...we also have a group of four colleagues that are the younger ones at my school -My flatmate -Mothers of my students (we don't spend time outside school but we are always chatting) -Few friends from the past that I keep in touch with via FB messenger
I live in a major international city in the Middle East.
I'm usually the one that needs arm pulling to go out, but I have no trouble asking people to go out. It's me that doesn't want to!

People move, they grow apart, they are in different stages of life and work and in general it is easier to make friends online than in person. Especially with support groups such as those for newlyweds and mothers. Mostly, it is a time thing. Many women focus kids and family (and or work) so much they forget to nurture their relationships and friendships beyone home/office.

No, not a lot of friends, hardly any close ones. Big city.
My lack of tons of friends actually comes from the thing that even though I interactions with everyone, I find it hard to truly click mentally with someone. I was also incredibly shy for the past few years and am only just emerging from my shell, and will probably start talking to people when I go to college.
I would say that the shyness issue is the most prevalent with women on here looking for friends. I could be wrong though, but this is my understanding of the issue.

I have 4 or 5 really close friends and maybe 10 more I could text right now and get together with this weekend. I don't have trouble making friends. I love different perspectives, from conservative to progressive. I like most people. I live in a suburb of a major metropolitan area in the South.

This may be (at least partially) because these two cities are very left leaning and it isn't quite hip to be a RPW in a left leaning metropolitan.

The "other" is a religious minority in a small town, her hometown. She had a large family with few friends. She only has one real friend. I have few. BF lives 45min away and one friend locally. Im not from around here. our town is 1600 with one 300,000 city near and a 60,000 town closer.

I live in a medium sized city, and I don't have a lot of friends.
I moved here a year after graduating high school (I'm 20). I have an okay circle of not-so-close coworkers who hang out a couple times a month. I'd like to make new friends, but I struggle with that because of my social anxiety. I'm trying to work past that though!

Sounds like me at 20. You'll get it. Hang in there!

I'm not close to many people, but I have a lot of friends. School/work make getting to know people and maintaining close friendships hard. But, I tend to be open minded and easy going so I enjoy meeting people and letting friendships develop organically.
I live in a large metropolitan area where people are very outgoing and friendly.

Not a lot of friends, 2 close ones. NYC but live in FL country now 2,500 people.
One of those two close friends is from here. I have not lost touch with anyone from NYC, I was just never really close to anyone. So basically, I moved to Florida and added a close friend.

I have about six close girl friends from high school and uh, a lot of friends. I move overseas for my work for long stretches of time (years), and some people don't like being friends with me, since they see putting effort into a friendship a bit of a waste (even though I do always come back).
Because of the nature of my work, I tend to make a lot of friends in the workplace. We all understand the high pressure situations, and in some places, you don't have a lot of freedom of movement so you have to make friends with the people in your compound.
I live in a medium sized city when I'm home, but overseas always in capital cities, which can be huge.
Edited to add: I wouldn't categorize myself as a RPW though, and my husband certainly isn't RP in any way. I tend to float in very feminist/liberal circles.
