The wage gap is a complete and utter joke. It is nothing more than a misguided attempt to push a narrative of victimhood and oppression, and it does a disservice to both men and women. In reality, there is no evidence of systematic discrimination against women in the workforce, and any differences in earnings between men and women can be explained by a variety of factors that have nothing to do with gender. For starters, the idea that women are paid less than men for the same work is a myth. It has been thoroughly debunked by numerous studies that have found that the so-called wage gap disappears once we control for factors such as education, experience, job type, and hours worked. Some studies have even found that women in certain industries earn more than men on average. So, the idea that women are being systematically discriminated against is simply not supported by the evidence. Furthermore, the focus on the wage gap ignores the many ways in which women are doing better than men in the workforce. For example, women are more likely to graduate from college than men, and they are increasingly entering high-paying fields such as medicine, law, and business. Women also tend to have better job security and are less likely to be laid off or lose their jobs in a recession. These are all signs that women are thriving in the workforce, not being held back by some imaginary barrier. In conclusion, the wage gap is nothing more than a political talking point that has been used to promote a false narrative of victimhood and oppression. It is not evidence of systematic discrimination against women, and any differences in earnings between men and women can be explained by a variety of factors that have nothing to do with gender. It is time to move beyond the rhetoric and focus on real issues that affect both men and women in the workforce.

the entire wag gap conversation is about yet another (oppressed group). A good one because its huge, it contains 50% of the population, women.
it is complete nonsense. To have a rational discussion, you have to pick specific professions, with men/women with relatively the same experience and educational credentials. But, you will NEVER hear any of that played out, because they'll lose the conversation and they know it.
A better hit on this is to ask the question, in the 30 and under working professionals, who makes more money today, men or women? Answer, it's women and it's increasingly so.
that should shut down the complaints right away.
the reason women are earning more in that age group relative to decades past?
1) women are getting married later and later, if at all. So they are staying in the workforce getting experience, etc. 2) women are also having less babies, same here with staying in workforce, getting experience, getting promotions. 3) women are getting more and more education than men, BS degrees , more women than men, MS degrees is accelerating more women than men.
combine them all, it makes sense women are now earning as much or more than men. this is likely to continue into 30's , 40's but drop off a bit as some women will have kids, etc.
so, in this argument again, pick the profession, like ok, Mechanical engineer, you think men earn 30% more than women? NFW and I'll go further that women have their pick of jobs and get promoted faster, why? Because there's no women and companies want to look good

I love this myth.
Her: "Women make 70 cents for every dollar a man makes."
Me: Maybe if women worked as hard as men, they'd make the same.
Her: "Women DO work as hard as men, sometimes even harder!"
Me. Then why do women only make 70 cents for every dollar a man makes?
Her: "BeCaUsE tHe PaTrIaRcHy REEEEEEEE!!!"
Me: Alright then, tell you what. I'll give you 30 cents if you go make me a sandwich.
Her: o.O

Well, really, you can't debunk the wage gap lie without going into some deep econometrics and that's way beyond the ken of chicks who honestly think that a profit-seeking institution would badly overpay its male employees for no reasons other than their sex.
You have to ease them into it with baby steps. You have to say something like "Imagine I have a factory with a machinist who's been there for 20 years, and then I hire a new machinist, do I have to pay them the same because they're working 'the same job'?" And then, if they concede that, YES, that 'pay gap' makes sense, then you can move them up to the more advanced notions that there are a lot of very big factors which go into determining pay which aren't discrimination.
Or simply point out that, by the same token that the claimant is using, there is a similar 'wage gap' in part-time work which 'favors' women, so is that evidence of part-time jobs discriminating against men? ... if they can't wrap their heads around the point of that example, then they probably can't go any further.

Yes you can, see my response. It's easy: which idiot would hire a man for their company when they can hire a woman and get the same work for 30% less? And even if all men do that because they are women haters, where are the women that found a new company and start hiring those cheap quality women to beat the market?"
If someone doesn't understand that argument, then they are a child. I'm not going to argue deep economics with a child. I'll tell them they I won't buy them chocolate and that they can cry if they want, that's about how deep an "argument" with a child goes.

Me: "Why is there no company with all women, beating the market? They can produce and sell same quality for 30% less - no chance any company with men can compete with that."

Yeah, this is the clincher. And when they say "men won't let us", I say "how can they stop you? why not pretend to be a man? you're online, noone would know".
Eventually they shut up, but I still feel they secretly believe they are being oppressed.
Logic isn't relevant to people seeking free money.

People who qualify as "diverse" (gender or race) tend to make more than their peers, because everyone is desperate to hire them to prove how woke they are. This causes their salary to get bid up higher compared to white males. This woke "reverse discrimination" push is a bigger factor than anything else in hiring.
It's so bad that, when I see a "diverse" coworker, my gut reaction assumption is that they must be completely unqualified.

Yep, it's all true.
We know this, and anyone who studies this also knows this.
Feminists lie to push their agenda, which is "we are victims therefore give us stuff". There is a profit motive.
