I decided to text her a little and I asked how her day was and she casually says that she visited her family and boyfriend in her hometown which is the next state over. I was caught off guard but I held frame and proceeded as if that didn't matter. What's your thoughts on this one, boys?

Could be a shit test like an anti slut behavior like "I'm not going to sleep with you" so she stays in good light. but this way she make you easy to get into a beta orbiter.
Look here up on social media, if she does have a bf she cares about it will be on her social.
If she has one and is looking to monkey branch, not worth it to get to invested like a ltr.

If she keeps bringing up this "boyfriend" call her out on it like: (why he not with you)(he should know better to leave you alone) then if she doesn't, move on not worth the drama.

The chick is doing textbook monkeybranching imo. She's broadcasting her sexual availability to you, but is delusional so she's self manipulating her psyche (with her words) in order to hold her 'status'. You should really just think of her boyfriend as a plate because thats what he really is.
Its the same thing isolated girls in high social settings do when they say i have a boyfriend, but then still end up getting smashed by the dude they told that to. If she was really loyal and had a real bf beyond the title, why is she even talking to you? Why is she agreeing to dates and linkups? Its like walking into a restaurant, placing an order then sitting down at the table. But when you get your food do you just look at it then throw it away? If there was something wrong with it you would. But you definitely came there to eat that food.
Your biggest hurdle is to apply RP and make sure what she wants from you is what you want to give to her.

It’s not going to play into your favor. She’s using you for validation, and once you make it known to her that you’re sexually interested, she’s going to use the plausible-deniability of “I told you I have a boyfriend” to deny you of sex while trying to keep you on the hook of being the gay-make girlfriend. I’ve seen it many times before and I’ve even been that guy…not to mention the fact that messing with some other dude’s “girl” comes with another set of risks.

Usually IRL if a girl says she has a boyfriend its more of a self delusion thing. But she texted this to OP, which makes it more calculative. Shes shopping for sure, but its probably for attention and fun. Shes bored and feels alone but sex is not an issue for her when she has a boyfriend that she pulls up to. Those types of chicks usually play games for entertainment.
