This isn’t the first time something like this happened and it probably won’t be the last either. Wasn’t there a guy who was raped while he was passed out who nevertheless got expelled because the woman accused him of being the rapist?

didn't read the article even though i should in order to comment BUT it depends what he did and you can still sexually assult someone even when you are drunk. i mean would you say that drunk drivers should be let off for killing kids in another car just becuase they were too drunk to consent to drive?
on a different subject i have no idea why people would even want to drink poison. i mean i find that most people that i know that drink aren't interesting. if you can have a great night out without drinking then you must be a really interesting and intelligent person to hang out. thats my 2 cents. maybe people just like having bad breath. maybe thats the new phase.

She initiated. Several witnesses claim she was at least more sober and led him on. Additional claims are that she accepted every action until morning after regret hit.
So no he didn't rape her, didn't even start the action that led to her doing what she claimed was rape. She's a typical victim mentality while the guy is the victim.

It seems like the only person who thinks that Jane was raped is the title IX investigator, everyone else on campus saw John's condition and like it stated, Jane has dug herself into a hole she can't get out of.
That being said, why is a Title IX investigator in charge of a rape crime? A responsible college would forward this to the police. The title IX investigator should be facing charges whether John raped her or not because she was informed of a crime and chose not to tell the police. Do they handle murder charges the same?
College: "Yeah a student was murdered, we found the murderer and expelled him."
Victim's family: "That's it?"
College: "We don't tolerate murder, so we had to be harsh on him."
