Admire the Hustle. We read this a lot in the Manosphere among the guys who fancy themselves entrepreneurs. I think one reason critics think the Red Pill is negative is because all they see is the Hustle. The Hustle has a way of becoming the whole point of anything.
I’m an abortion doctor, but I make six figures and I’m the best at what I do. No one will out-work me. Admire the Hustle baby.
When the selling is more important the the product itself, then you have problems. When the truth is less important than the Hustle inevitably our truth becomes the Hustle. There needs to be a balance and that’s getting harder and harder to find now.
We’re at a moment in the Manosphere where the truth is starting to get lost in the Hustle. I’m accused of it, or I’m accused of associating with ‘too much Hustle’. Well-meaning colleagues with too much perception and not enough information are feeling that salesmen care more about the sale than the product.
I hear you.
Let me finish here by reiterating that my obligation to objective truth will always be my motivation for doing anything I put my name on. It always has been. However, I have worked for amazing companies who sold things that people loved and enjoyed only to watch them crumble and die because the sales team assumed control of the ‘product’. The selling became more important than what was being sold.
My books, my blog, my appearances, every aspect of The Rational Male is my art. I craft each essay. It’s what I care about most. I will never allow the truth to be compromised by the Hustle. The Hustle is important, particularly when it’s about disseminating the truth, but it is secondary to the truth – even to the exception of the Hustle. Sometimes the truth doesn’t sell.

Are you sure your true motivation isn't to be validated by male fans and make money?

For me, the underlying tone of your essay Rollo; reminds me of 'what's your business', where you learn McDonald's is not a fast food business - rather it is a real estate business. The fast food side hustle is simply used for the accelerated acquisition of real estate.
It's going to be interesting to see the scene victims and hustlers bail out for the 'next big thing' like moths to a flame. We're going to find out what 'their business' real is; and as you suggest, find out where their loyalty really lies especially when the heat is turned up. I wonder how many will turn into 'allies' and soften their approach towards the gynaeocracy, simply to protect revenue streams.

It is already happening. A certain Married Man who wrote a Primer already sold out and watered down his message to suit female buyers. Result? You don't hear much about him anymore. I guess the plus side is that he hasn't been banned from amazon yet like some others.

Marketing vs integrity. Quality vs quantity. Truth vs money.

It may be a catch 22 situation, but it seems that the conditioned response of the masses to truths that are contrary to their belief structure is to find (or fabricate) reasons to discredit the truth, thus protecting their ego and justifying their convictions. It is easy to find people to preach the dubious health benefits of drinking red wine, while their consumption of known healthy vegetables remains at an all-time-low. Those resistant to TRP will always find or fabricate reasons to discount it, but I think the goal should be to keep the message as pure as possible, at least making an attempt to not give a foothold for others to re-brand it.
To control the brand you must control the message.

My belief is that everyone that has tried to monetize the red pill, has left it behind. I'm still waiting for someone to prove me wrong.

I read the BPP book, and saw him pop up in the OYS comment section this week. He doesn't seem to push his stuff that hard on here but the book is the shit (as are his youtube videos).

Like MMSLP, when BPP wrote the book, money was not a primary goal. Both are great books IMO. The problems with conflicts of interest in messaging came later.

Mmslp changed my life. First book I found. Genius.

Because he makes troll accounts to promote it for him...

Nah, this is my troll account.

I paid for the Kindle book out of pocket, so it would be disappointing for that to be true.

If I gave you $100 for every time you said the word "skunk-shaft" guarantee you would say - often.
Financial incentives work, that's why conflicts of interest matter.
Don't take my word for it, look at thousands of years of human history to prove this point. Does "Game of Thrones" provide some insight?

I wouldn’t be surprised if half the usernames here ...are really the same person. Abbreviations: AK.
SteelToeShitKicker 6y ago
I doubt he's on here, he didn't even participate in his own forum for years. Edit: And he paid a lot to keep that forum running, I remember the meltdown that occurred when he found out there was a group CCing everyone through the private messaging system and costing him a lot of money because of data storage fees.
framelessglasses 6y ago
Yes, we are...:)
Seriously, What's the "AK" about?
