and man, who ever says taking care of kids isn‘t a job hasn‘t done it. I had much fun but after only three and a half hours I lay in bed now, exhausted, and just realised that parents do this all day everyday, non stop. Much kudos to you! Your effort is definitely under-appreciated in our current culture.

Eh, I’m a SAHM and I personally find caring for my daughter in and of itself to be difficult. It’s different when there are no weekends off, no vacations, no sick days, and you don’t clock out. The all consuming nature of it can turn it into more of a grind.
Don’t get me wrong, I love staying at home and the time with my baby is precious. But the household management piece is not the main differentiator to me.

Yeah, I’m more in your boat. I’ve been nannying professionally for about 7 years and I love it, but it’s a job and can be exhausting. It involves both physical and emotional labor. I’m often glad in a guilty way that I do get to leave in the evening and have the night to myself, lol. Moms and dads give up a lot for their precious kids.

Yeah, I agree. I LOVED being a teacher and working with kids. Don't get me wrong, I definitely have plenty of fun with my kids, but it's absolutely relentless. There is always someone who is clambering for my attention, 2 kids, 2 dogs, and a husband. I quite literally get only a few minutes each day where no one wants or needs me. It's exhausting down to your soul.

Yep. I only have one so far and feel this way! Our baby is really needy and just will not nap so I get very little time to myself.
My husband really wanted a dog before our first was born but I convinced him to wait- now he’s fully on board with getting a dog only when our youngest child is somewhat self-sufficient. The only needy creatures I want to add to our home in the next several years are babies lol

The question is if they love it because they want to be your man-child, too.

Or just want you to breed them a hoard of kids they don't want anything to do with

Exactly

Especially if your kids bounce off the walls, instead of running at 40% speed
