Just wanted to celebrate finally making it to a UK size 10 and to also say that in the years of trying to lose weight 'for myself' I have pretty much been stuck at a size 12/14. I think because at the end of the day, I don't care about wearing a pretty dress 'for myself' as much as I care about eating donuts. However, I DO care about my husband and since deciding to lose weight for him, almost as an act of submission since I know he likes skinny women, and because I've opened up to him in the bedroom and I don't want my belly slapping against his lol, I have found the motivation! I feel awesome right now!

That's amazing, congratulations! Many people say you have to lose weight for yourself or else you won't make it, but I believe that's not entirely true. Whatever reason you have, if it works, it works.
I decided to lose weight for two reasons that are, in my honest opinion, equally important: for my health and to please my boyfriend. Normally people would say my health is more important than satisfying my partner, but it is also a 'state-of-mind' kind of thing. I could be healthy and not satisfy my partner and it would eventually not make me happy, because it increases the chance of my partner leaving me to find someone who is physically more appealing (which is his right). I could be unhealthy but still be satisfying to my partner, but that would not make me happy, because I will have to confront health issues and my partner should have the best interest in my wellbeing as I have in his. So naturally, being healthy and pleasing your partner are both important things to consider when wanting to lose weight!
I am still on my journey of losing weight and have spent 8 months losing 17 kilos of fat and gaining 1,5 kilos of muscle, so I'm on a good track. I don't have a specific size in mind to reach, as I have never been less than chubby, but I've been feeling more energetic, more appealing and happier so I can imagine I will train more to pursue more happiness :)

I agree, once you're in the right state of mind it's much easier to commit to improving your health and fitness.
You're making amazing progress, congratulations!! I do a lot of lifting rather than cardio and I can see really good changes in my shape. I used to just run but I would end up the same shape just smaller. 1.5 kilo of muscle when losing weight is fantastic! And yes! I feel soooo much more energetic and positive by eating healthy and exercising :D xx

Thank you very much! It is exciting even to talk to others about progress and tips and tricks to get this far :D I was so pessimistic about going to the gym for so many years, but now that I have a trainer at the gym who helps me out with exercises, diet tips and monthly weigh-ins, it hardly feels like a chore to be losing weight. I'm very happy with the changes it has brought as it has made me more possitive in life!
I started out by doing a lot of lifting and a bit of cardio. A month ago I tipped the balance the other way around and have noticed it makes it easier to lose fat. I do believe you can't do one without the other, but I have reasonably decreased the different types of exercises and started focussing on my upper legs and my torso rather than a full body program as I was used to. I have also been changing my diet bit by bit to see the effects and believe I have found a good balance that helps me lose weight, but also reassures me to get everything I need. I'm curious to see what changes it will bring. Keep up the good work! :D
