Ladies,
I've been a longtime lurker here and I was just thinking that we should have a fitness group! Let's post the activities or the fitness classes we like and post our gains here. Let's celebrate our fitness, our health, our beauty because our men deserve the best right? We deserve to be at our best health too!
What do you say? Let's get in shape together!

Are we using the post as the workout group or is their a sub Reddit for it?

I have trouble with carbs. I need to cut back on those. Any ideas for replacing carbs?

I eat low carb most of the time and salads are the way to go. I didn't used to think of salad as food, more of side but I know now they can be extremely filling and totally work as a meal. They help you to feel light and less bloated. For example, chicken, spinach, red pepper, pesto, a bit of feta cheese is so good.

Great idea!
I am a perpetual dieter and have had a rough road with my weight since my teens - going from very overweight to healthy BMI but with an eating disorder to recovered and slightly overweight again.
I tried to lose weight for my wedding last year - went to the gym every day, watched what I ate etc. and it did NOTHING. Ok, maybe I lost 1kg. I felt very put out and like nothing would ever work aside from being incredibly unhealthy.
3 weeks ago I decided to get help from a nutritionist who has given me macros that change every week with carb cycling for heavy workout days. I'm down just over 2kg so far and hope I'll be able to report some more progress as the weeks go on!

Last year I got into obstacle course racing. It's given me new goals to work toward, and I've found it quite enjoyable. My first race a year ago took 4:10. I ran two more races and got my time down to 2:50. Three weeks from now is the first race of the season, and I've entered the midnight-8am endurance race; 5 mile loops with 10 obstacles, changing at 4am to include water obstacles. Working toward this goal has brought my level of fitness way, waaaay farther than the gym alone.
There are at least 40% women entered in every race I've been to. Search youtube for tough mudder weight loss and you'll find some inspiring stories, including a woman who lost over 150 pounds and now makes a living flying around the country giving weight loss boot camps.

Great idea. I love walking on an incline on the treadmill. As far as strength training goes, I try to work my glutes in any way possible!

Working out has been great for my mental health and productivity. I push myself to walk to places and walk FAST, and I do strength training, too. At least once a week, I walk to the library, then walk to the park or gym and read there. Also great for removing distractions, as I get away from home, work, and the PC for a while. I look for new places to go to to keep it from getting boring, like heading to a different park or book shop than usual. Reading while doing cardio at the gym also keeps it from being so boring. I also listen to smart podcasts in one ear while I walk sometimes, like SciFri.

There are several reasons why I want to lose weight. Looking good for my partner is definitely one of them. I'm proud to say I lost 18 pounds in 4,5 months by watching what I eat, taking the stairs instead of elevators and going to the gym three times a week.
In the gym I cycle a lot and do strength straining for my arms and legs. At home I also spend one evening a week training my core and obliques. So that's four out of seven days, which sounds like a lot but once you got it fixed into your schedule, it's actually not that bad.
I am super happy with my progress so far, and I have noticed I'm not the only one~!

Great job!! Fitness is so much about those little things we do every day in addition to going to the gym. People always make fun of me for parking far away and always taking the stairs but I’m always in great shape!
Also, I recommend finding a workout routine you LOVE. For me it’s rock climbing. I also go to the gym and do circuit training then trail runs on days when I can’t make it to the gym

I am also more of a lurker, but I just started a new fitness journey in lifting and I think a fitness thread would be great and definitely a conversation with which I could feel comfortable!
Edit: My flair is over 2 years old. We’re still together.
