There's female fashion advice but I want to touch on some of the more feminine looks not necessarily trendy.
Tj max has some adorably flouncy knee high skirts in a variety of colors right now. Cynthia rowley I believe. Similar to [this..] (http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-Da0AkIrDjZQ/U6eZ0Fn88JI/AAAAAAAAD1Q/swj0XIbFdjg/s1600/yellow-skirt-blue-tshirt-02.jpg) And how adorable does she look?
Modcloth I find has some beautiful [feminine pieces] ( http://www.modcloth.com/shop/fit-flare-dresses).
On a budget? Forever 21 can work. They also have some very flirty sundresses which I know many men adore.

I mostly shop at H&M, J. Crew, Zara, and Madewell.

I got this dress this week and I can't wait to wear it. I also got a black one, but sadly it's too big, so I'm returning it.
I'm going shopping this weekend, since I need new clothes for the warmer weather and something dressier for my brother's high school prom, so I'll hit the usual shops (Zara, Pull&Bear, Mango and H&M) and try to find some cute items—I have my eye on this simple white dress.
Usually, I go for white or black, but I've been trying to add some colour to my wardrobe, so I'll looking for some colourful pieces~~

After being shown TRP and RPW this year, I have been slowly making changes to my physical appearance, one of which being my clothes. I have bought a few new dresses and skirts now that I have lost some weight but I still need to seriously sort out my wardrobe - skirts, dresses, shoes, accessories, everything! Does anyone have any advice on how to go about this? What things are more important/what does your SO like the most? How can I make the most of accessories so that I have a feminine look without spending hundreds of pounds (I'm in the UK) at once? Thank you!

It all adds up so quickly...

Haha yeah the shipping charges add up. There's a ton of cheap cute stuff on sale at lulu's.com, forever 21, etc.

These are gorgeous! Thanks for sharing!

Anytime and they're cheap :)
LiaKathryn 10y ago
Do they run true to size?
[deleted] 10y ago
Yeah, it does. The small fits me and I'm a curvy 5'4, 110-llbs?

I've been wearing a lot of 3/4 sleeve tunics from Eileen Fisher paired with leggings and wedges/sandals for the warmer weather. I usually buy Eileen Fisher tops from Saks or Nordstrom and a lot of times you can find them discounted online :) The lines of her tunics are clean and classy but without being too matronly and can be dressed up or down depending on the occasion--I've worn the same top to the grocery store that I wore to a nice dinner and to church with my MIL.

Recently, I found Le Bomb Shop through this sub! Their stuff is SO cute!! Tons of vintage-inspired dresses. They're not cheap, but they're very reasonably priced for the quality you're getting. :)
I got this adorable dress. My only complaint is that their smallest size was not small enough. I'm not the tiniest lady by any means, I'm 5'5" and usually run a US size 4 in the pants. That said, the dress was very easy to alter. I shortened the straps about 1in and took it to a tailor to get the waist taken in. The skirt is a great length, too, and it's so comfy! I'm waiting for my SO to take me on a date to the gardens to break it out.. :)
I've also been looking for more silky bathrobes... I have a couple and they're so nice for wearing around the house. Just waking up, just out of the shower, cooking breakfast in... sighhhh. :) I've found Victoria's Secret has some cute things. I'd love to hear if anyone knows another good place to get them!

I have a silk robe from VS, good quality worth the $50 (I think that was the price). How was your experience with Le Bomb Shop? I know you said they didn't have anything small enough for you, but other than that were they pretty true to size? No issues with shipping?
TheLadyPainter 10y ago
I highly recommend Le Bomb Shop. They have measurements of their dresses' bust/waist/hip/length on each page that I've looked at. From what I can tell, they're accurate - the dress was exactly the size I expected, just a tad too big for me. However, the style was very alterable. No issues with shipping whatsoever. :) I'm planning to get a few more pieces from them in the near future!

Modcloth is my favorite. Retro, modest (well some of it), and classy feminine. If only I had more money to spend there lol

My favorite skirts came from Old Navy, I got them on a Black Friday sale for 15 bucks each and I love them :) Old Navy is generally pretty good, they tend to run big though and some of their stuff is way too sheer. I love their vintage v-neck t shirts, they're form fitting and feminine but also the comfiest things you could ever hope to wear.
YakCat 10y ago
I'm a stay at home wife and Old Navy's skirts/dresses make up most of my daily wear. I can easily cook, clean, and run out in them comfortably.
Also if any of you ladies are tall runners, they make wonderful compression pants.

I'm a big fan of Lands' End. They're not just for school uniforms! I wear dresses nearly every day and at least half of them are from Land's End. I wait until they've gone on sale for under $40; I have my eye on this and this right now. They also offer nice basic skirts and modest swimwear.
Edit: I own several pairs of these flats from Target. They're comfortable, made from real leather, and surprisingly durable for the price. I love that they come in so many colors, and the bow is just adorable.

Because I get bored of my clothes quickly and like change them a lot I rarely spend a lot on the bulk of it unless it's a really decent pair of jeans I'll wear a lot but what i also do is always buy really decent accessories. Jewellery, bags belts etc I spend a bit more and don't feel the need to change them as much and they are a bit more timeless. I also like to check out little boutiques that sell one offs and unusual stuff and they're also not to expensive ????

I recently got this skirt which is waist-high and can be combined nicely with a white longsleeve. I also like this dress and could wear this cute sundress because of 25 degree here :-)
Some more fashion items I thought to be cute and feminine: 1 2 3
Concerning fitting shoes, I adore wedges.
Hope to be helpful :-)
frozen_strawberry 10y ago
those are german sites, yay! you dont happen to know of any that fit into a student budget better, do you?
[deleted] 10y ago
Another German, cool :-) I think Zalando offers a great diversity, also concerning price levels. Only and Vero Moda tend to be quite affordable and have many cute dresses this season, too!
frozen_strawberry 10y ago
zalando is so annoying i vowed to never give them money. but only and vero moda are really nice, i agree. actually just ordered a bunch of stuff. i'm just still looking for a place like modcloth here.
[deleted] 10y ago
Just bought five dresses for about $100 from sammy dress :) ill post the links later
FleetingWish 10y ago
I've heard bad things about the quality of sammy's dress. What is your opinion on that?
[deleted] 10y ago
All the things I've ordered are good. I think it really depends on what you order. The stuff I ordered shipped immediately and looks exactly like the photo but everyone does have a mixed experience. Then again, some of the stuff on the website looks trashy (esp. the stuff where there are pics of imitation dresses of Kim K) avoid those.
if you wanna stay safe, maybe look at the customer reviews or look at the photos.

I'm still finding myself when it comes to fashion and personal taste so I've adopted a uniform of sorts to help get dressed in the morning and stop buying stuff I won't wear.
This idea alone has been very useful, I reccomend you do the same before shopping

I love, love, love Pinupgirl Clothing! Their pieces are pricey, but the craftsmanship is superb. Totally worth it. For more budget-friendly clothing, I'm a fan of ASOS. They're great for basics.
