@redpillschool that isn't my interpretation of either buddhism or stoicism. It isn't about not reacting but about not becoming attached to a particular outcome. Acceptance is about planning for all possibilities, even undesirable ones.
Before you start the race you acknowledge that either you will win, or you will lose. If you win you will enjoy the feeling of accomplishment. If you lose you will allow yourself to be momentarily disappointed and then move on. In either case you will keep training as best as you can for the race that comes after this one. This attitude may help some men perform better and may make some men perform worse, I'm sure it is different for everyone.
The "peace" comes from separation from external validation. Your competition is no longer your co-worker or your brother or chad, it is yourself from yesterday. Others can't use emotional manipulation like shaming against you because their judgement no longer carries any weight with you.
There is no contradiction in accepting your current reality while still imagining a better situation. IMO both are necessary to be a functional person. The philosophy is something that helps you justify the effort and pain and sacrifice it takes to move away from your current reality to a better one.

@acprp There's actually a very significant push, both within The Red Pill, and in the manosphere as a whole, toward Bhuddism and stoicism.
The idea that a man should just accept things as they are, restrain (or harness) his emotions, avoid wasting energy by complaining or idly running his mouth, and just buckle down and be productive.
Some people might say that the ideal man is a creature of discipline. A man who doesn't drink, smoke, complain, chit chat, or waste time. His life is all about honing his body, excelling professionally, learning and honing his skills and crafts. A focused, driven man with a mission. Someone who just shuts up and handles life.
Other people might say that the ideal man is a worldly man who experiences all that life has to offer. A guy who drinks good whiskey, smokes good cigars, enjoys the touch and smell of a good woman, likes to travel, likes to go out often and meet people, and never fails to stop, smell the roses, and enjoy the good things in life. A fun, interesting, experienced man with a passion for enjoying life.
Maybe it's both, or neither.

@CainPrice those are the principles that I try to live by, I can't tell you if they are right for you or anyone else
either you think they make sense, or you don't
@acprp This is the correct behavior. Currently Forums.Red is not ready for prime time. When it is, the login script on TRP.RED will redirect you back to forums. We have a single logon for both sites.

@acprp Probably because the Forums module is incomplete and read-only at present. We're all looking forward to that format becoming available to posters here.

@acprp Elaborate a little bit. A pithy, edgy statement like the ones I used to make when I was 13 don't lend themselves to much discussion.
"Shut up" - Talking too much is non-masculine? Complaining is non-masculine? Discussion or debate or exploration of deep topics is non-masculine?
"Work hard" - Making money is masculine? Working out is masculine?
"Accept your inevitable decay and death" - Acceptance is masculine? Worrying about the future is non-masculine? Contemplating death is non-masculine?
"There is no such thing as a good excuse" - Finding reasons to not conform is non-masculine? Avoiding hard work is non-masculine? Making excuses is non-masculine?
What are you proposing about masculinity, and why do you think what you are proposing is masculine or non-masculine.

when I click "login" on forums.red it takes me to the trp.red front page, is that my browser shields or is there something else I need to do?

@VuongNguyen21 I don't know of a solution for apple, but since most of the guys here are smarter than the average bear then sideloading an apk downloaded directly from the site shouldn't be a problem
