working on an ASE certification (an entry level mechanic certificate)
I got 15/16 ASE certs in the 80s when fewer than 500 had done so nationwide. They're so dumbed down and ubiquitous as to be near worthless to an automotive career without real world skills to back them up. Many people entering the automotive field today imagine doing "tuner" work on a computer and never getting their hands dirty, which is as rare and unrealistic as expecting to become one of the people who make millions from low effort youtube or onlyfans type gigs. I'm here to tell you that even with gloves, mechanic work will make your hands rough, and dirty in the seams such that it can be near impossible to make them clean and feminine looking.
curious how blue collar work is perceived
Like a woman on a naval deployment will become a "shipboard 9" by virtue of scarcity, aside from a few gatekeeping sexist fucks, lots of men in the industry will treat you as a shop bay 9. Be aware of the selection bias this places upon your worldview, and balance your estimation of your own SMV based less on the attention of your immediate cohorts, and more on the SMV/RMV of the pool of men trying to pull you from outside of the industry. There are plenty of good men in the trades, and career tracks that can put us well into the middle class, but the stereotype of shitheads who couldn't cut it in school also has basis in reality.

Supposedly I’m in my sexual prime and I’m trying to maximize that by working out daily, eating right, taking care of my skin, etc. I’m also pursuing an engineering degree (dunno which yet) and working on an ASE certification (an entry level mechanic certificate).. Just curious how blue collar work is perceived. If it’s a plus or a minus. Either way I’m still gonna pursue it. I intend to do it while I’m pursuing my degree since skilled work beats typical college jobs such as serving. I also should add that I’m a late bloomer physically. My first relationship was at 21 and have only dated two people. So I’m late to the game and am romantically stunted I guess.
