I have found it more difficult than ever to be consistent with my diet and adhering to a daily routine.
I’ve been in real estate for several years making good money - anywhere from $9k to $35k a month consistently. The market has taken a dip in my area and my lease was up so I decided to move back in with my parents so I could save money and get down to Tampa, FL.
I have a job that unfortunately I don’t take seriously, but it pays like $3k a month on the high end. It’s temporary until I move and get back to what I’m good at, but expenses are so low I can put most of it in savings.
In the span of 2 years I’ve gone from 190lbs with single digit bodyfat to 230 lbs probably around 18%. I can directly attribute this to binge drinking every weekend. Sometimes 2-3 days.
I feel trapped in an endless cycle. I go to work and im so beat that I don’t go to the gym 7 days a week like I used to, usually 3.
My girlfriend comes and stays with me most of the week since she just got out of the military - she always wants to go out to eat and insists on paying but obviously it’s demasculating to allow her to do that most of the time.
I’d hate to sit around and do nothing everyday with her so I inevitably have to spend some money, eat out somewhere that isn’t on my diet (even if its healthy it isn’t consistent) and I drink because it’s the cheapest thing we can do that is better than sitting around watching movies everyday.
Any ideas on how I can get out of this cycle? There is literally NOTHING to do in my parents town but go to a couple lame bars. There are trails we can walk on but my knees are so bad I’m only good to walk long distance maybe a couple times a week.
If I'm reading you right, you've got four concerns:
- Putting on excess weight, due to idleness and increase in calorie dense meals.
- Hometown is ok to form family and raise kids, but not an ideal place for a single bachelor looking for an active lifestyle.
- Bad knees, and possibly other joint problems.
- Declining motivation for work and working out.
If you don't want to eat out, or have delivery, eating at home is the way to go. It'll give you time to revive your idle cooking skills and put together better balanced lunch options for yourself. If you binge drink beer, maybe you should look into making your own and limit yourself to that? There are plenty of decent kits you can start with. If your hometown isn't an ideal place for a bachelor, maybe you should make plans to visit other towns and nearby small cities on day-trips during the weekend. Explore outward from there to find someplace more your speed.
As for the bad knees, aside for swimming and bicycling, I've got nothing for ya. The few older relatives I've got who make a regular habit of swimming tell me nothing, but positive things regarding the low impact swimming has on their knees and other joints when they workout. I've been riding a bicycle myself daily for quite a few years now and I've seen no signs of knee pain, so it shouldn't make your joints any worse. You might even find it an interesting idea to consider trying out a recumbent bike to give yourself an upper body workout as well.

@Vermillion-Rx I will say - red pill isn’t meant to be toxic but the way most interpret it- it almost always ends up in some toxic behavior

@MentORPHEUS I didn’t do real estate agent stuff per se except on occasion but I worked for a hedge fund and investor network. Trying to buy properties at deep discounts and was paid based on profits they made from the flip. 10-30% to be exact.
Hard job to replicate in this market

@Jocbro Knees don't do well jogging on pavement. I suggest pick up a good used mountain bike and use the hell out of it. Very knee friendly way to get a lot of cardio work in. I got a used motorcycle grade half helmet to wear while biking.
Don't try to jump blind into the Florida real estate space. I've seen lots of indicators it's one of the most saturated and competitive with agents, and the market volatile AF. Right now there's a crisis of insurers pulling out of the state on top of it all.

I agree with that. What would you do if the relationship doesn’t take a lot of work? I prefer honeymoon phase but my interest has maintained and it’s still been minimal effort to maintain
Not to mention her body is better than 95% of women I encounter on a weekly basis

Agreed, however it takes a level of intimacy out of it for me by not being monogomous. Its just human masturbation. Once youve had sex with one youve had sex with them all - at that point its just to fill your ego. I've had sex with 6s-9.5s and it felt the same. Some could do little things different or better but not enough to rationalize getting to know them, paying for a date, escelating, etc... becomes rebotic and mundane. And generally not worth the effort at all. Same process over and over just to get the same thing from a different girl.
I like to take trips and have someone to enjoy it with and ideally make lasting memories with. Plus, despite what red pill says, its wrong to demand monogamy from a girl if you're not also monogamous. I dont care about the red pill rhetoric of women "sharing a high value man over settling with a loser". I know I could sleep with several girls and they only sleep with me, but where do you draw the line of being "high value" enough to do what you want and just being hypocritical?
Ive soared my "wildest oaks". Sex is always good but the minimal effort it takes just isnt fun for me anymore and I always look down on the women for sleeping with me on the first date. Plus, I know if theyll do it with me theyll do it with someone else that half has charisma

@Deepthroat I’m just saying to my knowledge. But no offense to many of us, not many men obsess over something they have an abundance of…

No doubt about it. And if you want a wife, kids and a white picket fence then always go for the virgin. For no other reason than statistics being on your side
Unless you’re top 1% in every category then you can pick 2 of 3 at best (most men don’t even get 1 of the 3) > Good looks, good past, good personality

@Vermillion-Rx this assumes that all women want commitment. Which would also imply all men just want sex. Or just want a wife. It’s 2024 - drastic social changes have taken place in the last 40 years. Women no longer need men.
The major problem with red pill is that it puts ALL women in a box and takes out any human aspect.
Frankly, all these red pill gurus on YouTube don’t give the impression that they even get bitches. Honestly I think I’m the only one on this forum that has given concrete proof that I consistently get women.
They problem is red pill tried to explain women with logic but they are 95% emotional in their decision making - which defies logic
