Hi all
I met a girl on the street and got her number. We were both in a rush so didn't talk much I gave her directions got her number quickly and left.
My question to you is would you call her or text her?
My attempt to answer - I think both options have merit but texting may be better as its a more casual approach and a call from a complete stranger may be a bit overkill.

It's what the current generation do. they hand out numbers, and get involved in long text exchanges that rarely lead anywhere.
This benefits the women much more than men, because women LOVE text exchanges, what they call 'talking to a guy'. most of all, they love talking to 'multiple guys' at the same time. the whole thing can be organsied from the comfort of their own sofa. there is no risk in this for them, and they LOVE hearing their phone go 'bing' (attention and validation).
Most modern women like to have a pantry full of orbiters to text them, so that they feel desired and valued. they'll give just enough texting in return to keep the orbiters happy. its' largely an extension of social media.
The next level up (for women) is 'dating'...even more A&V.....
In all of this, there is no sex. social researchers are mystified WHY the younger generation are having less sex than ever before. It's beacuse modern life (texting and dating) is basically femocentric - we are living in a femocentric world.

Of course, that's because there was no texting yet, and also of course only about 1-3 out of 10 numbers actually led to getting laid.
But it was certainly better than the current model of being an endless penpal orbiter via text!

Number hunting these days is purely for entertainment. The girls love it because it makes their phones go bing.
And the spergs love it because they paid for premium on their PUA class and their guru told that that if they just get enough numbers, maybe one day they can lose their v card.

Endless texting is for ladies. They love it, because they can hand out their number to every clueless beta, and watch those notifcations make her phone go bing.

You want to avoid texting to nowhere. You don't want to startle her. Text to warn.
Calling her avoids you being "just another texting buddy in a long line of orbiters".

Calling usually gets you an answer on the spot and you get to actually hear how she feels. The voice tells you a lot that a text can't. It also gives you the chance to come over as warm, smooth, funny and confident (or arse it all up and look awkward and floundering of course).
But my kids almost never call without getting into a text conversation first. They consider it rude, so probably young people will lean to text.
Text also gives her time to just work up the courage to say no thanks or to decide she is not that interested. In the end this is doing you a favour as it saves you wasting your time, if she is not keen.
I think in the end it depends how personal you want to make it but I doubt you will be seen as wrong and too cold if you text.

Be different - grow a pair and call her. or don't.
