Your children are fully aware of the bs, maybe not the specifics but they definitely pick up on the vibe/mood/emotional aura of the household. It bleeds into all interactions. Last year of my marriage was garbage for everyone in the house. It’s not a healthy environment for children to grow up in.

I feel that this can go both ways. A toxic relationship is bad for the kids whether it's shared custody or under the same household.
Shared custody, you're most likely dealing with the mom talking shit about the dad. And yes I'm speaking from experience.
However same household is just as bad. My brother lived with his baby momma for years and they would always fight and argue with the kids in the house. And those kids are fucked up (one in jail for 8 years and the other will be there soon).

While most of your post contains little news the title contains the best part. Yes, validation seeking through sex is a thing. However that is also a conscious thing.
I'm not sure if ALL women use sex as a tool to reel a guy in. My last ex actually admitted to this. When she knows a guy likes her, she doesn't want to have sex with him anymore (the LTR with her was a disaster).
On the other hand, a FwB of mine had a very bad marriage with a guy that didn't want to have sex. It left her extremely frustrated and wanting to have lots of sex. Basically a reversal of gender polarities. She's now compensating for lost time with me.
Either way, the basic premise of "no commitment" is a keystone here, but not the only one. Another one is "meeting frequency", which is a component that also applies to plates/FwBs. See/fuck her too often and things get normal or boring too.
If you want a good and active sex life as a male, spinning plates is pretty much the solution.

Plate theory isn't just about teaching you abundance: it's also a training program. Let's assume you listen and apply the gospel of spinning plates. You have numerous plates. Plates will break and you will replace them. Ever so often one in particular will stand out. She sticks around, does all the right things and values your presence. She knows she is not the only one, but she fights nonetheless for her share of your time.
Spin for long enough and naturally you're going to weed out the low quality ones. One or two are going to stand out; they're going to stick around. In doing so they're going to be conditioned to not fuck up because they know you will leave and they see that you have actual options.
Plating is a training program. If your LTR is a graduate from Plate University, you're going to be fine (once you continue to do your part). My LTR was a plate for 4 years before she made it to LTR. She is consistently aware that I am capable of picking up and leaving whenever I want. You think this would be possible if she wasn't a plate first?
I should flesh this out into a proper post....
TLDR: Spinning plates is not just for you. It inadvertently trains your plates who can potentially become an LTR. When they're trained, you will have good sex in your LTR

I was my gf’s first and I trained her into good sex over time. I also started out as a beta with potential (and i guess i am still like that, although I hate beta alpha stuff). I think as a grew more assertive and took less bs from people around me AND as my gf started to dress better, work out, and feel more sexy, my sex life slowly improved to where now she is a freak.
I think even if you are in an Ltr the key is having and demanding respect for yourself (and you do the same in return). My girl knows I’d leave if she did the petty, dumb shit you see a lot of girls do and because she knows she doesn’t try it. My approach is a little different from trp Guys here because instead of centering around “abundance” I center around “my standard.” I have a basic degree of respect and behavior i expect from everyone in my life, especially my parter. And if I’m not 100% happy with my relationship, my thought is “why have them around? I could be 100% happy by myself.” I have actually broken up with her once because of it and we got back together later on. The point is, no matter who it is, you need respect from them (basically they can’t be willingly doing annoying as shit and expecting you’d just tolerate it, that’s making your life unhappy) and you have to respect them (she needs things from you, don’t get lazy and not workout for example, be a man so she doesn’t feel like she is dating a loser).

That right there is the problem to your approach. You have a biased option based on some theory. Let me share my experience with you and see if that makes sense.
I've never been married, but had more than a few LTRs, some live in girlfriends. I will not go into a debate on the LTRs, so let's concentrate on our topic, which is the quality of sex over time (in our case familiarity)
As the relationship gets familiar, the adventerious or kinky sessions might get few and far between. But it can be the opposite. This all depends on how you approach to the relatonship. But more importantly how you approach your life. If she sees you are her rock, she will always look up to you and will do her best to keep up. I've had relationships where in the beginning the sex was OK, but she gradually got better. Not to a pornstar level, but to a level where they literally begged for it. But sometimes shit goes the other way and you loose all the excitement.
What I am trying to tell is that the sex your are getting from any women, be it an ONS or a LTR is a direct indicator of how you treat yourself. Respect yourself and she will follow you. Cave in and treat her like your mom, and she will slap you like a little boy. That simple. This has very little to do with familiarity.

I've been dating the same girl for 5 years - sex is gotten consistently better, and we still have sex around twice a day on average. The only days we don't have sex is if we're both incredibly stressed and traveling but we don't go longer than 2 days ever. We still experiment try new things and have a blast. I've been with plenty of other woman and I will say overtime, sex gets better when you learn each other. Dread game is a thing, use it and remain a high-value guy.

Yes the dread game will help in many situations but the intimacy that you get from someone whom you've known for a long time is on another level. I don't think you can find this from a woman that you picked up 2 am in the morning while both of you are intoxicated.
