The detective may simply opt not to follow up on it, because it is pointless. The prosecutor may tell the detective not to bother, after a consult.

Even if the cop does follow up, and it gets to the next level, the prosecutor may, again, just close the file.

For your part, your only words to any cop who calls is, "My lawyer's number is ___. I have nothing more to say to you about this." /hangup Don't listen to anything they say. Do not respond to a single question they ask. They are not there to help you, they are there to make a felony arrest.

If they are at your door, do NOT open the door to them unless they have a warrant. Make them show you the warrant before you open the door.
