A good analogy that come to my mind, is dog training. Should dogs be trained not to attack people? Sure. Can you train a specific dog not to react even with food in front of them? Yes. I don't know what the legislation would be in such a case, but I guess the person could still manage to get the dog put down because we tend to prioritize the safety of humans, just like we tend to prioritize the safety of women. Even though you're right, the problem goes deeper than that. One problem with the current version of feminism (on top of the problems previous versions had) is that, like all those social justice horseshit has been turned into a business model, with foundations, tenures and political careers depending on it. And the worst that could happen to people whose livelihood depends on this business model is if it became obsolete.

1. The first consequence of this is what you just said: "It wants women to think they are victims and hope for feminism to stand up for them." Women who actually are strong and independent (and don't just like to think of themselves as such), don't need feminism; and neither do women who don't resent the fact that they're vulnerable.
2. The second consequence is that they have to deliberately search for issues to be up in arms about; which in the current political climate means that they have to fabricate them. Feminists are deeply unhappy people, and they derive satisfaction from making other people's lives as miserable as their own. That's also why feminists do a 180 on all their feminist campaigning if it's convenient: women being able to defend themselves is suddenly a bad thing because it enables rape culture; women outnumbering men in academia is suddenly a bad thing because deadbeat men; attentive lovers (who expect a modicum of apprecation for their efforts) are a bad thing because emotional labor.
3. And finally: entitlement feminism. The current batch of feminists is a bunch of pathetic easily-triggered snowflake losers who oftentimes are only alive because it would be illegal to shoot them. And in their twisted minds, anything that infringes on the autonomy of women in any form has to be done away with. Women should be able to run naked through the a gang-infested hood without the fear of being raped, and literally anything should be done to ensure that this becomes possible. If you teach them how to defend themselves, you're implicitly laying the responsability for their own wellbeing at their feet, which is anathema to that mindset.

I don't understand the whole "we should teach men not to rape" argument. We already fucking teach men not to rape. But sadly rape will happen, no matter how many times we drill into people's heads that it's wrong.

But women can also take steps to reduce the likelihood of it happening.

I remember back in high school I got written up for making a RP-like analogy way before I even knew about this community. We were talking about drunk sex in health class my sophomore year and I bring up how of course we should teach men not to rape but women should take steps to lower the likelihood of it happening. My teacher, a woman of course angrily asks me to explain and I feel every eye in the room on me.

So I made the simple analogy that we teach people not to steal, but obviously theft will happen. So I wouldn't walk around at 2am in a dangerous neighborhood with a gold watch displayed on my wrist because there's a decent chance I could get mugged. I then went on to relate it to how some women go out and get blackout drunk at parties with no consideration of the possible consequences.

Immediate shrieking ensued about how "WE NEED TO TEACH MEN NOT TO RAPE". I tried to argue back but was thrown out of class and written up.

And that's when I learned to just smile and not at the SJW bs you hear in public. No sense trying to be some sort of martyr.
