The world is half women, and their reasons for hiding the truth are simple: it's in their best interests to do so. Optimising their sexual and social strategy requires hiding their hypergamy. Men don't want to provide for sluts, women know this, so women pretend they are better than they are in order to secure special treatment and providership. If men knew that she was railed by the football team (for free) the previous week, they wouldn't be so willing to pay for her dinner in the hope that they may one day marry the super special snowflake of their dreams.

So that's the female side of things, makes sense so far. Keep men in the dark, keep them paying. Simple.

Now the male side, which is much more complicated.#

Men have a protective nature towards women (that is not reciprocated) because they carry our babies and we do not carry theirs. Most men are not going to be able to have sex "for free" because only top 10% men get that (there are very good biological reasons for this that are not relevant here). This means most men are forced to pay. This is wrapped up in words like "romance" and "marriage" and "being a good man" and "being a good provider" and "manning up" and many other manipulated phrases that mean little more than "pay for sex".

Men are prideful and don't like to admit they are being paid for what other men get for free, so they delude themselves into thinking that "this girl is special, she is worth it" and "I am investing in the relationship" and "I am building a future with her". It's much nicer to believe they are investing in a future than simply paying, even though the difference is negligible which the man is paying for something that will never repay, never give a return, and will evaporate the second the woman wants out (which statistically speaking she will, sooner or later).

So (beta) men delude themselves about the nature of women and society because it is nicer for them to believe in the disney fairytales than to admit the cold hard truth that they are simply being exploited.

Men (especially those in relationships) seek to downplay hypergamy: they don't want other men to believe women are unfaithful because they don't want their "investment" to cheat on them. They now have a vested interest in speaking well of women, and they have absolutely no incentive to make your life better. They are also being controlled - if their significant other hears him say anything that is not in the female best interests he'll face a tantrum, a mood chance, lack of sex, etc. All the usual ways women control men.

I think some of it stems from the red pill mentality that you can put people in boxes and predict their behavior which works perfectly fine in most cases.

I think a lot of problem is "white knighting" by beta males. Universities used to be almost all male. I'm sure back in those days people talked honestly about women. As soon as they started admitting women, they started changing the curriculum and lectures to be "less offensive." And then, it gradually devolved to the situation we have today, where you can probably be thrown out of school for saying "I believe children should be raised by two parents, a man and a woman". Now everyone is expected to kowtow to a false religion, and there are numerous thought-crimes. If you say that on average, men are better coders than women, that opinion can probably get you expelled from school or fired from your job.

The pendulum will swing back at some point. People are getting fed up with the Thought Police and having to pretend to believe in blatant lies.

Because whether we like it or not, a culture of monogamy is good for society as a whole, even if it is to the detriment of the individual.
