Gentlemen, I apologize for being quiet these past few weeks (aside from our awesome AMA day which was incredibly active and a great mental exercise for some of us.)

I come bearing some good news and updates:

We have completed the backlog archive of /r/TheRedPill and /r/RedPillWomen.

As many of you already know we've been hard at work getting rolling backups of our content and shipping it over to Forums.Red. However, some limitations in Reddit's platform makes it difficult to go too far back in time, so our rolling backups were of popular posts only.

While we didn't see too much issue with that- some posts with only 1 upvote and no comments weren't exactly gold- it did hurt not to have a more complete archive.

Thanks to some input from our users we were able to use some additional new tools to fill in our gaps and finally get 100% of our content archived (sans self-deleted content):

Our Archive Now Contains:

105,000+ /r/TheRedPill Posts

2.6 Million /r/TheRedPill Comments

-And-

12,000 /r/RedPillWomen Posts

222,000 /r/RedPillWomen Comments

We've added a feature that is sorely missing from Reddit: Sort by Old.

Now you can go back to the beginning of time and see the beginnings of TRP:

TheRedPill Sort-By Old

RedPillWomen Sort By Old

You can also do user search (which I believe is missing from reddit).

Here's a list of every time I say the word hypergamy: https://www.forums.red/c/?search=hypergamy&timeframe=1&userid=redpillschool&submitsearch=Search

We are continuing our efforts to grab the rest of /r/askTRP.

As many of you know, our Forums are undergoing some extreme makeovers but given that our forums are starting with over 3 million comments and hundreds of thousands of posts we've been hard at work securing a robust platform that won't crumble under the load if/when we need to migrate.

Our original forums (which you can see clicking those links) are sluggish, ugly, and barely passable. They were whipped up very quickly during a massive subreddit banning spree to ensure we had something in place for an emergency, but surely not a perfect replacement. This is why we're taking our time now to do it right. Proper caching, design, and speed enhancements are underway to make this platform perform exactly how we want it to.

We have also been working with our partners to pre-empt potential censorship issues that may arise, aligning with companies who take free speech seriously. This is key given that our potential departure from Reddit is due to such censorship.

Our Roadmap

Our goal is not to divide our community, but instead use Forums.Red to augment our community until such a time where TRP is simply unable to continue on Reddit. Because of this, over the next month or two, we plan to open a few subtopics on Forums.Red and allow some time to wear-in the platform and stress-test it.

Our eventual goal is to allow non-RP topics, subforums, and their own moderators, to be hosted on Forums.Red with the following caveats:

  • The topic must be a "forbidden topic" that's at risk of censorship elsewhere
  • It must not be used for doxxing, harrassment of individuals, or revealing private information.
  • It must be legal under US Law
  • No Porn (There are better places for it)
  • Each topic must still be moderated for the selected topic.

Moderators who would like to test the waters on the new platform will be able to apply for testing (we will announce this in the coming weeks). We ask that these topics meet the criteria above.

We're not looking to be a replacement for Reddit. The issue with replacing Reddit is that it's a very large ordeal and most replacements hinge on being "free-speech" which ultimately turn into cesspools of "DE JEWZ DID IT" and various racial slurs. There is already a place for kitten pictures and I see no reason to try to replicate this.

Instead we want to focus only on reason and the pursuit of reason in the face of censorship. Each board will still be required to moderate their topic accordingly.

We're still working out rules and policy so feel free to comment here with ideas and critiques of our approach to remain dedicated to free speech while still preventing the dumpster fire that is Voat.

And as always, this effort is entirely out of pocket for me, if you want to help support the effort feel free to join our PATREON (Subscribe Star coming soon) or Donate to our Bitcoin Address: 1Hyyva2G5aCJwNqYToGoCCGATVNMB81zk7
