I wanted to share this with you. This article is a gold mine on why the TRP core values and perception on modern society are on point. Not to mention of feminism moves towards creating a society impregnated by misandry.
Reading through the article the blantant accusations towards normal behavior being percieved as "sexist" by women and then exaggerated or taken out of context by feels put the knowledge of the Red Pill in motion. It's everywhere.
-
Woman feels she's being evaluated for her personality and looks not for her very special very unique abilities. Company is sexist.
-
Lack of frame is translated by the victim card as "They make me feel very uncomfortable and unable to progress like the men at work even when I put more effort"
-
Zero tolerance on toxicity policy is not good enough because is not giving her special benefits.
-
Desires to be treated as a man, without the responsability, repercusions or demands.
- Callout on Meritocracy for a tool to place women in positions below men.
The author and the entrevisted essentially demonizes on men behaving like men, and calls out the corporation on creating a toxic work environment for women.
Etc.
In case you don't know: Riot Games is a leading gaming company, creators of the most popular game in the world right now, League of Legends. Taking on one of the most powerful gaming companies worldwide because of feels is an insult.
Thanks for the un-plug again.
EDIT: Fixed link not working.

I read this article and I know people who work at Riot. This is pretty much true tbh. The culture is correct - of course you should be passionate about gaming (and not fake passionate) to work at a gaming company. Of course you should be playing the product you work on. Of course assertive behavior and networking with your fellow superiors is more important than raw merit / intelligence when it comes to ladder climbing.
It's all true pretty much - and it should be true. The type of culture Riot has sounds like the ideal culture to make a game for teenage boys - and I don't say that derisively. League is played by 90% males. It's a competitive game that needs to engage highly competitive teenage boys and drain their monies, and keep them addicted.
Of course sexism exists and is real. But it exists in the sense of women are just not going to on average do as well in competitive workplaces, because it is objectively harder for them to assert themselves, speak up, bro out with men, take risks, sacrifice their social lives to improve their skillsets and learn the newest trends, go to hackathons, and be a part of programmer / gamer culture.
The women who can do it will rise dramatically faster, as they benefit from being competent AND in hot demand by people who want to virtue signal. This is about 5-10% of women.
The talk they are referencing by the senior producer and the presentation by mark merill where he's talking about only hiring gamers -- that is sensible. You wouldn't ask Google to hire engineers who give a shit about AI / big data / IoT / some market that Google's present and future is involved with.
If you want to not give a shit about the space you work in, you are limited to tier 3 options. Go work at fucking Wells Fargo or some shit making banking software if you don't care about tech and programmer culture. You want to work at Netflix? You better be passionate about big data, you better be a the type of person who's dick gets hard explaining why sql is shitty. Meanwhile, all fucking Riot wants from you to work at Riot is to, aside from your skillset, spend a few hours a week playing some games. Why the fuck do you work in gaming if you're not going to play games? If people talking about World of Warcraft intimidates you and excludes you from the conversation, why are you working in gaming?
The biggest problem with frat culture in gaming / tech is it's basically just a way to crunch the living shit out of your younger expendable employees, because they think it's cool to be working 70 hr weeks for shitty ass gaming salaries (relative to what they could earn with a similar skillset in tech). But this is again, the entire point - you chose to work in gaming, and now you're complaining that your employer is wanting you to be passionate about gaming?
Luckyluke23 5y ago
exactly. no one is forcing her to be in gaming. she could go program for business.
Quo210 5y ago
This is very interesting and places a new perspective on the whole problem. Maybe they feel uncomfortable because they have no idea, and don't wish to have any idea, about the thing the company desires them to be interested in, so naturally they wouldn't get socially involved and eventually edge at any circle, lowering their value as a team member for Riot.
Throwing all that in a bag and saying it was because they are women is... irresponsible and manipulative. Even evil, because it can get the company in trouble.
Thanks for your input.

I agree with your take regarding the article.
One point that gets mentioned in the article that you didn't go over are the claims involving being sent unsolicited dick pics and the grabbing of someone's genitals by leadership. Assuming the claims are true, I wouldn't accept this at any workplace. Personally I have no experience with bro culture(is it even bro culture?), but I don't understand why someone would do what is claimed and think it is okay. This doesn't seem normal to me and feels like blatant sexual harassment in the workplace and an open invitation for lawsuits. Is there something I am missing, or is this some kind of typical male behavior that just comes off as alien to me because I never experienced it?
Having said all that, the fact that to my knowledge there haven't been any sexual harassment claims citing unsolicited Dick pics as a factor lends me to believe that the claims may be false, but for the sake of argument I am giving them the benefit of the doubt.

You shouldn't buy reddit gold anyways. Why fund a company that habitually silences voices like ours?

The only problem with your comment is that the positions aren't just those related to programming. Finance, accounting, management, and HR are all bros. I'm not taking positions on anything here but I fail to see how playing league improves an accountants ability to handle finances
Lavlamp 5y ago
You need people in HR who understand the true vision of the company, so they can hire and help shape employees to meet that vision.
All you have to do is look at any major company who hires fem women into hr to see what it does to your business. Hint: nothing good, and nothing close to resembling what the company's founders set out to do (unless it is in a female driven market, or course).

Interesting how females 20 years ago called gamers/game devs neckbeards and now when video games became a billion profit industry females all of a sudden are interested and act like they always liked the video games culture to make demands.
... If women didn't have pussies, we'd hunt them for sport.
sadomasochrist 5y ago
That is the worst article I've ever read.
Tldr ; boys are mean and work is hard.
Step it up cupcake.
RadiantCairo 5y ago
that isn't surprising, seeing how kotaku is pretty much the gaming equivalent of buzzfeed.
Your_Coke_Dealer 5y ago
It’s Gizmodo/Gawker Media. They run the likes of Jezebel and The Root as well, and I’d say they are sometimes a worse version of buzzfeed

The fact that she said the guy who presented it for her had tears in his eyes after they accepted the idea from him made me laugh out loud.
antifeminist435 5y ago
Because you didn't believe it? I didn't believe it, and I think a minimum of many of her statements were exaggerated if not false. Sounds like all the stereotypical feminist talking points all rolled into one workplace--unlikely.
Lavlamp 5y ago
Exactly. She probably does beleive everything she said, but it's warped and a far distant relative of what actually happened.
VillagersUnite 5y ago
I'm actually a bit surprised anyone from this subreddit saw the article. Even more so surprised anyone was able to really finish it. I couldn't detect any ACTUAL sexism, just a bunch of women and white knights making up stuff to fit their narrative. All in all I don't believe anything without concrete evidence. People are too willing to believe a woman just cause she's a woman.
Quo210 5y ago
It is an exhausting read, I did not complete it on the first sitting. I don't expecting anyone to complete it just like that, the 5 first paragraphs are already pretty nauseating. Just dropping exactly what the flair says, a blue pill example, today snatching at Riot Games. Maybe tomorrow It's EA, who knows.
I made some points about it on the thread, like one of them being called out on hypergamy. She put it out in the interview as "spreading rumors". So naturally the answers I got in that comment were: "there was no hypergamy, it was lies!!". So everyone is assuming she's being 100% truthful because It's a female, and well, they can't lie! Really, It's tragic.

a lack of information... could be... mood, morale, social standing, track record, who owes him favors in that room, his ability to sell, congruence, nepotism. not saying it couldn’t be sexist but you can’t jump to a conclusion like that

VillagersUnite 5y ago
I don't think so. She would have to have irrefutable evidence. As far as I see it seems she expects people to believe her on her word alone.

VillagersUnite 5y ago
I don't disagree. I just don't like feeling like I'm expected to believe simply because it is said. With no evidence being presented who exactly are you trying to appeal to?
AllahHatesFags 5y ago
This woman is an oblivious zealot. Take this quote for example:
She automatically assumes they rejected her idea because they don't respect women. It's more probable that either they don't like her personally and rejected her idea because everyone she was presenting it to thought she was an annoying bitch or the male colleague just sold the idea better than she did. Any failure on her part must be caused by rampart sexism because she can not fathom that it was due to her shortcomings. I would not want an egotistical narcissist like that in my company; if I were her boss, I would fire her ass.
If she's such a valuable asset to Riot but feels she's being kept down by "sexism" then she should find a new employer.
DropDeadTyrant 5y ago
Additionally, it sounds like she has a record of already "expecting to be successful" whenever she does something. If I was the owner of a big company, I don't care who you are, if you present something to me with an air of superiority or an air of "my presentation is the best ever presented", I'd cut you down. This article in and of itself shows she doesn't have the mindset to be in the upper levels of a business. There's a difference between being confident and being cocky. Cocky people don't survive.

These complaints are starting to get tiresome. What is the actual solution they are looking for? Do we have to nerf and handicap competitive and capable men so they feel good about themselves? In my line are work there are women who are absolute sharks and I would detest any disadvantage that was forced upon me over them, they don’t need it!
This bullshit is just an out for weak women who can’t compete and keep up. When you’re a man, you don’t have that out, your only option is to work harder, work smarter and quit making excuses.
EPArt 5y ago
Its like everything I try to get into women are trying to ruin it before I even get their. If she doesn't like her job I could of had it, actually annoys me the amount of jobs that go to waste on women who bitch complain & do everything to not work. When you could of gave it to guys who would actually give a shit work hard, suck it up on the bitching and not try to actively try to get people fired/ lower the quality of a company and actually want to hire people based on skill and potential with a team and not because they have a vagina. They are desperate to get into a industry, they get it dont like it, expect every to change for them, after colonising it changes then they move and start the cycle again its cause of unprofessional shit like this a lot of women aren't in leadership positions in the first place. When women end up being hr recruiters/management this shit happens even more frequently.

It's a tool to place mediocre people in positions below non-mediocre people. But they want independence of outcome, that is, communism.
