Why does it seem like everyone does drugs? I can’t make friends without someone trying to smoke or do coke. I despise drugs. I have anxiety but I cope with it the hard way. I feel hopeless to finding people who can have fun without doing stupid shit.

Most social groups drink a lot too, and that's a drug at least as hard as coke, and way harder than pot.
In my experience, most people don't really care if you don't want to take anything, and either you're unlucky with your choice of social groups, or you are just projecting your own negative feelings onto them.

You are moving in the wrong circles.
CokeRockOnYourClit 5y ago
Or the right circles. Having access to quality coke is a great tool to network with powerful people.
defrules 5y ago
How do I go about finding the right ones? I know it’s not meant to be easy since most people don’t have the same mindset as me.
vas_mhtro 5y ago
Every circle with decent looking girls seems to have drugs in there, and I dont want to hangout with nice guys type of white people.
smirk_addict 5y ago
This is the truth and it's something I don't really have an answer to. I am probably as square as they come. No drugs, alcohol, or tobacco. Just never was interested. I could've probably slept with three times as many women as I have if I was into that stuff. I'm not bitter, but it's something me and my body joke about because he's the same way. I know a lot of guys that hang out in circles and everyone drinks or does recreational drug use. They have no game but get laid constantly. Women always want to live the moment and are always looking for a way to avoid responsibility for anything. Plus there is an element of drama that it adds to people's lives and women like drama. Most attractive women like drinking and doing drugs...
BurnoutRS 5y ago
your problem is that youre a defeatist. Anything said to you is going to be met with a "yeah thats fine and all but heres my excuse why your advice wont work and im a special snowflake"
If every circle with good looking girls also has drugs... then you need to learn how to handle yourself around drug people.
Whats so hard about it really? You see a guy doing coke and you walk on by. Someone offers you a line "Im good bro".
snowsquare 5y ago
Yeah burnoutRS i really disagree man, that is not how it works. If everyone is doing drugs and you are like no thanks guys im good bro, then why the fuck are you even hanging out with them in the first place. The girls do drugs too and would rather be with one of the guys that would do drugs with them.
BurnoutRS 5y ago
I do drugs, my friends do drugs, I dont always do the same drugs my friends do.

Man has become weak through modernization. Even so called straight laced, blue collar men are slaves to alcohol, caffeine, sugar, and nicotine. I'm in the same boat as you and I don't know the answer to be honest. I figure I can make friends who are into fitness/working out because that is where you will find people who are into self improvement but I haven't made any efforts yet.
dtyler86 5y ago
As a guy who stopped smoking pot in college due to anxiety, I stuck strictly to minimal alcohol for a while and now that I’m in my 30s I mess with Coke here and there. I can promise you no one, absolutely no one, I’ve ever met that does blow or smokes pot judges or cares that you don’t, they just don’t want you to judge them. My current LTR is dieting and not drinking and it’s kind of jarring for that reason. Don’t get too into your head about it. Also, I had the same “fuck those sketchball” attitude towards coke users until I did it on my 30th and realized it’s literally comparable to a good feeling shot of espresso, nothing horrible about it.
HOWEVER... girls that do blow are usually total freaks in the sack. Do with that what you will
huntersam13 5y ago
you dont think alcohol, sugar, nicotine have been around before modernity?
KORB4311 5y ago
Exactly. For the vast majority of human existence those chemicals were either hardly available or not at all. During the paleolithic era, for example, the sweetest thing that an early hominid could find was a fruit about half as sweet as a banana is now.
look_up_there 5y ago
Drugs have a time and place. Don't be friends with addicts for obvious reasons. Recreational use, however, can have very positive effects on the lives of some people.
If you are 100% against it though, and people don't accept you for that, then they are definitely not worth any more of your fucken time. Try looking for new friends in other places.
ValorElite 5y ago
And these positive effects would be? In my experience, the downsides heavily outweigh the upsides.
defrules 5y ago
It pains me because the people I see are obviously using to mask another issue in life. I’ve seen it ruin people’s lives. I just see it as a waste of money(mostly aimed at coke) and a crutch. I try to surround myself with people that share the same goals or people that are better than me. It’s lead me to near isolation and it’s driving me insane
randomTATRP 5y ago
You can't help those who don't want to be helped. Trust me. It's not only about drugs, it's about other stuff too. I tried to help a lot of people, they mostly don't want help. If they did, they'd act on the problem.
a_nus 5y ago
There's definitely people that use drugs to mask other issues in life. But if you're young, chances are a good chunk of these kids are only doing it recreationally. Nothing wrong with that honestly. Be smart about it. Nothing wrong with not doing drugs at all, either.
knuglets 5y ago
Yeah I'm calling BS on that. Best case scenario, it's just a not overtly negative effect. Even with alcohol and caffeine this is usually the case.
lnternetLiftingCoach 5y ago
Yeah, I'm calling BS on your comment. For example, recreational use of psychedelics such as LSD and Psilocybin can be a pleasant experience in itself and have a significantly positive effect on your mental well-being and health. Drugs in moderation do not necessarily equal adverse consequences, and the pros can easily outweigh the cons associated with it.
knuglets 5y ago
Fair enough. Although what you define as positive is certainly relative.
On the other hand, the use of psychedelic drugs can have a permanent negative mind altering effect. Whether the effect is "positive" or "negative" is unknown until after you use the drug. If every reaction was positive I might see your point. Unfortunately this is not the case.
I don't want to take that risk and I honestly don't want my mind altered in some unknown/random way
Pascolino 5y ago
Ecstasy made me open up and I became a very social guy after using for 2 years. Been off of it for 15 years and I still think it was extremely beneficial. Mushroom helps with depression, mdma with PTSD, weed with pain, etc.
knuglets 5y ago
Well, good for you. That is genuinely a good thing if everything you have said is true.
The fact remains that you took a risk and it paid off. Do you think that everyone who takes ecstasy has the same result? Absolutely not. What about the percentage that overdose? Become addicted and end up homeless? have a permanent mind altering reaction and are never the same again?
What do you think the chances are of any of these things happening? 10%? 50%? I have no idea. But I think it is safe to say that the chances are above 10% for any given person.
Now couple that with the fact that you have no idea how susceptible you are to any of those things or to this specific drug before you use it.
I had a friend who did weed for a while (a couple months) and was fine. One day he smoked and just completely flew off the rails and was never really the same again. Apparently it was some kind of manic episode caused by the weed. And his mind was permanently altered. Because of weed, one of the least risky types of drugs.
Now this isn't even getting into the fact that maybe you could have achieved these things and had a much more fulfilling experience if you would have gone about becoming social in the traditional way that most guys here do it.
Basically, what I am trying to say is that the risk of using drugs is hugely understated. The reward is ridiculously worthless in the grand scheme of things. I'm not really trying to convince anyone, but I honestly can't see how any red-pill aware man can consistently (or even inconsistently) use hard drugs and think that there is a net positive effect on their life.
Pascolino 5y ago
I get where you're coming from, but MDMA, MDA, Magic Mushrooms, Ketamine, Cannabis, etc. are all drugs that can be used to help or treat people with a slew of mental disorders, from PTSD to cancer to social anxiety, and rarely have long lasting negative impacts on quality of life. Often they have permanent positive impacts. The percentage of possible problems you put up there are wildly different from what science and statistics are telling us. It's a-okay not to do drugs, but unless you're doing some hard addictive drugs (like Heroin, Meth, Morphine and smoking coke) the risks are very low. A lot lower than regular alcohol consumption or smoking cigarettes. I have tons of anecdotal examples which I'll spare you, but the science is in; most drugs are not bad.
Throwaway-242424 5y ago
Literally nobody is becoming a homeless addict off MDMA, and the per-use hospitalisation rate of MDMA use is lower than that of horse riding.

Religion or attachment to higher values are important for young men; I've found that the religious circles I run in compared to secular tend to have young men with better long term dedication, discipline and formation than those fed on conspicious consumption and disposable relationships in the broader society.
Pascolino 5y ago
Religion is not useful in this day and age. There are better ways to build circles and be social and adhere to structures. I'm being polite as I despise religions. With thousands of religions, which one is right, which one makes sense? Which one is not an attempt to control others? None of them. And how can we deal with having a soft harem, redpill values and align RP behaviour with following a religious tennet ? RP is about lifting the veil. Religion is about looking at the veil and guessing what's on the other side.
SkrttttSkrttt 5y ago
Many religions enforce what we would consider to be the highest RP standards. Take a look at the Middle East for example or tribalistic societies. American religion is highly watered down.

CasaDeFranco 5y ago
Religion totally alligns with RP values. The men in Opus Dei I know, they have large Catholic families, before they married their early 20's wife, they sowed their wild oats, now they have 6 children, a strong network, most have C level vocations and they are heavily engaged in their community, both socially and politically.

What are some redpill values which are incongruent?
topkar 5y ago
Religion is fucking retarded. If you’re autistic maybe go ahead and go to church. For everyone else, you just look like a fucking moron. It’s 2019 for fucks sake

Pascolino 5y ago
Dude you're out of your mind (nice hat though).
Which religion's right? There are hundreds. Which God's the right God(s)? There are thousands. In a universe of a billion billion billion billion stars and a billion billion more planets, you think there's a God who gave us laws and told us how to behave, to us specifically the human race? Told us how to dress, how to worship him?
Come on.
Christianity in particular is a mishmash of copy/paste from older religions for some manipulating assholes to use the credibility of the masses to control them. It's proven, it's documented, it's not even complicated or mysterious.
topkar 5y ago
No, it’s fucking terrible. Unless you’re uneducated and poor, then I can see how you’d be religious.
Filmguy000 5y ago
Definitely a sign of the times. Remember about 20 years ago (if you're old enough) how drugs were seen as the devil? But now there is a lot of advocacy for "moderate" use. I honestly don't feel comfortable with it. I really believe most drug use is a sign of some underlying issues or problems within the person. I have witnessed people take stuff like the so called "safe" and "enlightening" psychedelics and they didn't act right and sometimes were flat out uncomfortable to be around. Nevertheless, just don't closely associate with that crowd if you're not down with it.
SubstantialBeanBoi 5y ago
i had the same problem. drop people who can't live their life without frequently doing drugs. if you're still doing drugs frequently out of college its kind of a joke.
cufflad 5y ago
In every social circle there’s probably a drug user or two.
Why do you care so much?
If they ask you to do it, say no. If you don’t like it, move on.

Man, cut them off. If they are not taking drugs for medical reasons then there is no point having them in your life. If they have issues and they are not dealing with them, then you are in the bucket with the rest of the crabs.
What are your hobbies, mission?
defrules 5y ago
I workout everyday, I play basketball a lot, I’m a singer-songwriter, and I do a lot of work with youth in my spare time. I’m still in college and have made a lot of good connections. Have a couple of good paths but I’m trying to get my feet wet and decide what I’d rather do.
