So here's what's got my mind in a tangle... This is an EU story keep that in mind.
The nightlife in my city is big. And young. I'm pretty familiar with it, as I've been actively participating in it for like 10 years now. Mainly for the music tbh. Here's what puzzles me.. From what I've learned, at the core of the scene there's like a core group of dudes (22-35).. From the outside they look like lowlifes without a job doing drugs and partying, you know the kind of "badboys". As far as I know they do make some money though, some by DJing, some by organizing nightlife, some by selling drugs, and some doing a little bit of each. But otherwise on regular days jack all. (also some go do manual labor in neighbouring "western" countries where they pay like twice as much as here, then just come back, party, and fuck girls). So basically they do nearly jack shit, and 16-24 year old girls just offer themselves up on a platter, because they're cool and edgy and drugs guuurl. So a lot of their nights results in fucking young drugged up chicks in the ass all night with no effort at all.
Now, I'm debating why I'm even bothering with my lifestyle compared to this. I work more than fulltime, to further my career, to grind for extra money to try to save up for shit like my own place. Always trying to improve myself. Lifting, but after that barely if ever have time to socialize and game, can pull only MAYBE a quarter of girls compared to these guys, and I have to put serious effort into that shit (and again, time..).
Like where's the downside to their lifestyle? Maybe they can't get their own place down the line, but they certainly can stay afloat... And constantly get easy lays, and have way more free time. Why should I bother with my lifestyle, when I could just join them? I'm obviously not in their inner circle, but I know them, however currently as is, I don't offer any value to them. My line of work doesn't link to the night scene, and sometimes even clashes with the schedual of parties and shit, so I can't even attend all these parties.
What am I missing here? What's the downside to their lifestyle?

I guess you need to give that lifestyle a spin and see for yourself. The whole thing is built on image. I am connected with them and I can tell you that they that are in charge work all the time. They have to deal with strung out kids, violence and theft. There are very dark people surrounding them that can make you disappear.
They bang young drugged up women and get drugged up because they cant game sober, they are mostly addicts and failures and then there is the final most important thing.
Prison.
You could see something and be asked to keep it shut. Suddenly they get caught and you are involved.
Fucked by association. The risks are there, go check it out if you like, and sure you shouldn't work yourself to death unless you are also keeping your spending low. Work like an animal for a few years then turn around and invest and retire.
Dont just work like a dog and placate yourself sometimes with overpriced shit like expensive vacations and clothes and cars or whatever.
Pay yourself first and make that money. Dont toss it back to the hustlers.

Because it sux to wake up at 35 with no life, no stable work, etc., and maybe one of your drug girls still around, maybe not.
NightWorld is a fun place to visit, but you wouldn't want to live there.
Auvergnat 5y ago
And why not? Some people lived and died in NightWorld.
I'd rather suggest to OP that he gives it a shot on the side so he can see for himself the upsides and downsides of that lifestyle and decide for himself if that's his path or not.
a_nus 5y ago
Not to mention it takes a toll on your health. I don't know about OP, but living the party life might sound appealing to a young 20 some year old, but as someone approaching thirty, I don't care how many girls I get to fuck in the ass, living that lifestyle doesn't sound appealing at all.

I spent a couple years living this life in my early 20s and it was fun af. Until it wasn’t
Then my life had no meaning for a bit, and party drugs ruin you. I struggle with decision making with drinking and can’t resist cocaine to this day, to the point that I just don’t drink anymore.
You get no fulfillment out of this lifestyle and you start to realize you are spending all your time with damaged people.

To each their own, but I would rather be sexless than waste my time, money, and health chasing the thrill of nightlife adventures. I would rather go out to delicious dinner with an LTR, go back home to my spa and get head in bed on a weeknight than spend hours validating losers, pretending to have fun, and acting like a monkey for attention. I also just hate the majority of people, and crowded places is the opposite of a fun time for me after a hard week of work. Why go out to some shitty club when you can just invite people you actually like to come hang out at your house.

I used to do that but then it got old and well who wants to be the 30 y/o going unz unz until 6 am almost every night. Also luckily I got out before all the mee too started. I don't know how the nightlife is now but based on my experience its not a bad thing to do for a while. Like you said dj, drug dealer, promoter gets a lot of female attention if your up for it.

I mean, it's still a constant flow of free young pussy

If women are the goal, go for it.
If you have other goals, pursue those instead. Women may come to you that way, depending on the goal, level of success, etc.

Because it’s fun for a few weeks, but if that’s the only thing you have going on in your life it’s a very unfulfilling life to fuck meaningless bitches whk also have nothing going on in their lives and smart girls with a career and a good personality won’t have to do anything with you for longer than a one night stand if at all.

Just go to bars (more personal than clubs), keep it to 1-2 drinks, and go home at a reasonable time.

The nightlife is for people who have nothing else. If you spend as much time in it as they do, you will hate it. You get a small serving of it and think it's the greatest thing but it's not. Everybody you meet is a phony and you'll never see them again. Try living that life and see what you feel like after a couple months. You'll become an alcoholic, you'll piss your days away being hung over, and in the end you'll be lonely despite "going out and being social." Being social in and of itself is meaningless, that's what you'll learn. It isn't a replacement for meaningful relationships with people, and it's half the reason celebrities can have everything and end up depressed.

Short vs long term goals.
Don't waste your time with consumerism culture. I've been in the night club scene for more than 10 years and know what you're talking about. The guys you're talking about are drug dealers/low life scums, they work for the club owners and bring sluts with them.
I only go clubbing only when Im behind the mixer. If anything, learn how to spin records and make money out of it. Soon, you'll understand the things from the other side.

I'm nearly 30 and work full time as a teacher.
It was good fun partying away in my early 20s - out most nights drinking, not the drugs though - basically it just ended up feeling hollow and as though I were chasing meaningless highs that were never fulfilling.
I now work about 45hrs a week - it's full on amd tiring. I have to be careful about my local public image and the implications that things most people don't even consider could have on my career. I work hard and in a lot of ways have to restrain myself but I'm more fulfilled than I've ever been.
Hedonistic lifestyle is fun for a bit but you'd end up on the fringe of the law dealing with shady people on a daily basis. There's the danger, the instability, the lack of building a future for yourself for cheap and empty short term thrills.
But hey, you need to try it for yourself even if just for a while

Not sustainable long term, and has zero benefit in the long run

Fucking girls is just a biological need at the end of the day. Life isnt about getting your dick wet.
