71 Kg at 5.9' is nothing. Keep going.

Honestly there is no universal best look. Girls are like any other humans with different tastes and preferences. Just like some guys may prefer a thicker and curvier girl over a skinny girl or vice versus a girl may prefer a bodybuilder (think Arnold Schwarzenegger) over a lean and jacked guy (think brad Pitt in fight club) or vice versa.
I say just lift and go for a look that YOU like that makes you confident. That confidence will go a lot farther.
TSM_Bjergson 5y ago
5'9, 200lbs in stage condition, about 225lbs lean in the offseason. Never have had an issue, assuming I'm keeping things tight with my diet on point. Lots of muscle is fine if you're not carrying a ton of water and fat with it.

Yup
ChadsLeftNut 5y ago
For a natural, what is a good weight to be at that height? (If you are around 12% bf)
TSM_Bjergson 5y ago
Whatever makes you look good in the mirror. Chick's won't ask how much you weigh when they're deciding whether or not they find you attractive.
ChadsLeftNut 5y ago
What about the max weight that one can put on their frame at that height naturally and at around 12% bf
TSM_Bjergson 5y ago
That's very individual. Comes down to genetics.
ChadsLeftNut 5y ago
How much was your max weight naturally?
TSM_Bjergson 5y ago
185lbs max weight, 175lbs at single digit bf which I when I went on my first cycle. Started after 5 years of training naturally.
mrHappyPotatoe 5y ago
Its basic shot test.
Store_Front_Door 5y ago
To be fair, weighting in at 71kg you've got nothing to worry about because you're far away from being "too big", speaking objectively.
That being said, the whole point of amateur lifting is to feel comfortable in your own body. You want to be a 110kg 12%bf bear mode- go for it. You want to be ripped- go for it. Go for whatever physique you like.
I, personally go for the bigger build, with barnyard backs and tree trunks instead of arms, but I never look down on smaller, leaner guys, because at the end of the day we're just doing whatever the fuck we find attractive.
ImQuitingPorn 5y ago
Respect for awesome comment.
TehJimmyy 5y ago
Doesnt height play a role? If you are short you can reach a maximum amount of weight/lowest bfat for that weight right ?
So 110kg 12% bf for a short guy is impossible ?
lifeisweirdasfuck 5y ago
Yeah man I know I'm not "built" yet at 71kg, but as I said I have really broad shoulders (also due to 11 years of swimming) and it makes me look bigger than I really am.
And If I had to reach 80kg with my bone structure I would look so freakin large and would probably fuck up aesthetics. Imo height plays an huge role on how much muscle mass you can pack on without looking bad
TheShearerComplex 5y ago
Can confirm height does play a part. Unfortunately as “small guys” if you look too big you look like a bowling ball.
Broad shoulders is good though. Makes sure you have broad shoulders, big guns and decent abs and you don’t even need to be body builder big to make the girls swoon.
In my experience, the gym is 100% diminishing returns in terms of pulling girls. As-long as you look like you hit the gym and look after yourself that’s enough, anything over that is overkill and likely is more ego trying to out alpha other guys.
Case in point, I used to be addicted to the gym and entered a body building competition a while ago and I was in the shape of my life but I really didn’t notice that much more attention from girls (especially compared to how much more effort I was putting in) compared to the 6 months before were I was still in the top 20% in terms of body.
In fact it kind of intimidates girls and makes them feel they have to look perfect all the time. Having a good body and coming across a chilled guy, compared to angro steroid user will get a lot better results, with most women. Of course on the other hand there are some girls who worship the huge guys.
lifeisweirdasfuck 5y ago
Yep I agree. I see girls swoon over skinny guys with abs and I'm like "mh okay". In my opinion those girls' value goes down incredibly from my perspective. I feel like they should pay to get my attention, as they are giving it to some 40kg estrogenous guys.
I'm 18 and I see most of the girls attracted to those skinny guys. It's sad. I don't know if it's like that for girls a few years older, but honestly I hope so.
There's really no need to get big for women, usually a 9% bf body with a decent amount of muscle is more than good. The point is, you might be attractive to women, but not intimidating to other males, because a lean body might be aesthetic but nothing else.
honestly, this is my goal right now. I train to look intimidating and getting respect from others, especially from taller dudes.
But I would like to still look good in terms of aesthetics and proportions.
This is a hard choice a guy with average-short height should take. Get big and intimidating, or get lean and attractive.
Iwannachokekatie 5y ago
You come off insecure.
Ben_Eszes 5y ago
Yeah, I also see that happening. To me, it sounds like you're working out to impress yourself and/or other guys (but not in a bad way). If you were just trying to get girls, then you could just cut down to 8% bodyfat and forget about your muscles. So figure out your goals: do you want to workout to become the best version of yourself in your own perspective, or do you want to workout to get laid? Once you have decided, you can choose how to achieve that goal. For me, it's about looking good consistently and not having to do dramatic bulks/cuts. I know that I can always be 4-6 weeks from a six pack, but in the meantime, I try to get bigger and stronger.
mrmr69 5y ago
Dude. This is all intellectual wankery. You think and feel that you are better than those "40kg estrogenous guys" but apparently you're not. At least not enough for girls to have sex with you.
Are you actually putting yourself out there, or are you just passive? You want respect. Actually do stuff so that you end up actually being someone.
In German, there's an idiom "ungelegte Eier" (unlaid eggs). You're wondering if you could get too big... Work on fixing the problems you actually and already have.
Also, you need to get laid. Is there some bored housewife living in your neighborhood? How about your mom's friends? Bang them out.
lifeisweirdasfuck 5y ago
Your point is valid, not gonna lie.
I want to be honest, I still have struggles with approaching women in my city for some stupid reasons. So yes, let's say I'm passive.
I got a perfectionist mind and I feel like I'm never enough.
This mindset has pros and cons.
Pros: I'm motivated as fuck towards my goals, I can reach almost anything I desire. I have discipline and determination
Cons: you are never satisfied. You believe you are never enough. In a few words, you can't be happy.
This is a great advice. I should fix my problems related to game and approach anxiety before anything else. And yes, I should get laid.
DayGameChirality 5y ago
Do u enjoy unhappiness.? I doubt it ss
trpppp123 5y ago
Clearly this is not true because one of your apparent goals is getting women yet in the same post you say you're passive about this goal.
lifeisweirdasfuck 5y ago
The thing is, I feel like I need to improve myself to a certain level first, which is actually impossible to reach. This is called perfectionism for a reason. You can’t be perfect and nobody is perfect. But in my mind I want to be perfect.
My goal is getting women but my mind is somehow convinced that I can’t get women until I look like a men’s physique and until I’m a millionaire. While in reality approaching them is all I need to do. That’s the problem, my mind is tricked.
Terdmuffin 5y ago
It's pretty difficult without some extra hormones. And if you get "too much muscle" then stop. It's not like you're gonna accidentally get too big.
truedemocracy3 5y ago
Anyone that asks this question has no clue how difficult it is to body build. Yes, you can have 'too much muscle' where it makes you look less attractive and even less effective at other sports. No, you will not accidentally get to this state.
You need a SERIOUS workout routine, a SERIOUS diet routine (as in you are pounding chicken breasts for breakfast lunch dinner and snacking in between, eating 5k cals), and maybe even then need steroids/gear/whatever.
This is not worth worrying about. Trust me, you will not get there on accident. It's like driving somewhere without a map and worrying that you will end up on the moon.
abudun79 5y ago
Yes, there is "too much muscle".
But that won't happen suddenly and you always have to do those awful things for some time. People often don't know what they are talking about and just think of those freaks. They're not talking about normal lifters.
You will know when you start taking one of those downhill roads. So, don't be afraid of lifting.
Fapisluv 5y ago
In your case, unless you train for 3 years and use steroids, there is no "too much muscle".
JSuma 5y ago
Not sure what the body fat % is but I’d think the goal is to look good in and out of clothes and have a proud chest and posture to balance out those shoulders
ppanthero 5y ago
Not if you are natural. The extreme elite bodybuilder look is freakish, true. But do not kid yourself - you are not going to reach this. Not even close.
throwaway66633gg 5y ago
As a natural you can't get too big while staying lean so don't worry.
WoodWizzy87 5y ago
So you’re like 160lbs and you’re family is like don’t get any bigger??? Lol. The problem is most people especially family see you as your old self. Whether it was a skinny short kid or a pudgy dude when then see a stark contrast they’re like “don’t change too much”.
Just remember what you see on cover magazines is not natty nor even close to attainable without 3-5 years lifting. If you’re 5’9” and you can get up to 180-190 with low body fat I’d call that an accomplishment
[deleted] 5y ago
Remember that BP conditioning your parents gave you? This is one of them. I'm 20% BF, just started lifting, and I'm "getting too big" as well.
Edit: assuming you're still natty
Hethinksnihilism 5y ago
Couldnt agree more I see this all the damn time If family members are obese and you lose weight and you still have a lot to lose theyll say you are getting too skinny you are starving yourself If the family is skinny then you gain muscle theyll be like its too much its not healthy yada yada and heck even accuse you of taking roids which is a personal choice but they have convinced themselves its okay to be average and anything but that is wrong Theyre insecure simple as that I see in a lot of ways the norm for a blue piller is pathetic to a redpiller
[deleted] 5y ago
Yeah man, I don't know why the fuck people are like this. I've never been one to do any of that. I've known people who have lost tons of weight. If I get jealous, and I have before, I either say something positive or shut up
Aggressive_Beta 5y ago
Yes, if you have too much muscle then it strains your organs and bones from being overweight. Good luck hitting that point while being at a healthy body fat percentage though, even Arnold was barely above 30 BMI when he’d finish a cut
[deleted] 5y ago
Nah, train towards whatever physique you deem best suits your body type/schedule and unless you're using roids/gear/juice you'll never get to a point that's objectively too big. Sure some people might find someone who's maxed out their genetic potential unattractive/gross however for everyone one of them will be a guy who looks up to your bear spirit animal manifestation and a girl that wants to get plowed that much more because of how you look.
It would only become an issue if you did start using steroids and pushed your body past its genetic limits at which point your heart will be working overtime and will diminish your health and lifespan and at that point would be fair to say that you've gotten "too big"
Good luck mate
FieldLine 5y ago
WHOOPS! Looks like you're listening to the shit women say instead of watching what they do!
Your goal should be to become the biggest, widest, veiniest mofo around. You basically want to resemble a giant cock.
truedemocracy3 5y ago
There is a thing as too much muscle for women, dont let them convince you otherwise. But that said it's damn near impossible to reach there. Good post from a guy on fitness sub who put on 70 pounds of muscle and looks like a fucking bear. Even despite that size it isn't offputting.
Throwaway-242424 5y ago
Women just tend to say that they don't like muscly guys as a form of ASD. There's also an element of sour grapes, like when couch potato guys look at a bikini model and are all "0/10 looks too stuck up and high maintenance"
CaptDeadlift 5y ago
There isn't if you are natural but if you are on steroids or GH then I can see the too much muscle but a natural will never achieve what someone with steroids can do.
HumanSockPuppet 5y ago
There's only "too much muscle given my personal goals". Fuck what other people think.
[deleted] 5y ago
If you're natural you'll never be able to reach the point where you have so much muscle it's unattractive to girls.
Look at men's physique ifbb pros this is pretty much the ideal physique for 90% of women and these guys have been lifting on drugs for probably close to a decade. If you're training naturally you'll never even come close to the point where you have too much muscle for girls to find attractive.
MadSparty 5y ago
At no point will the "too big" line be crossed for non-roiding gentlemen.
jekporkins77 5y ago
Girls will find roided out mass monsters gross
Dabunghole 5y ago
Golds gym girls love the look lol. ^ this is hamstering
DayGameChirality 5y ago
Can't please everyone
03Cobra 5y ago
Some girls
ppanthero 5y ago
Yes and no. Arnie never had girl problems. Some may find it gross, some might just prrtend to do and some are getting off from it.
jekporkins77 5y ago
I’m talking more like modern bodybuilders who weighed 80lbs over arnold, yet were shorter, bubble guts, less body fat etc
ppanthero 5y ago
Yes, true. Almost no women will like that. I agree on that, but thats a very extreme example.
