You haven't established clear enough that you don't want that. It's on you. "Yup, yeah, i hear you" subtexts that you're still interested in hearing that shit.
Here is what worked for me with every girl. I haven't found a girl that doesn't get this yet.
Girl: This boring story about an ex.
Me: Complete dead silence. Absolute no reaction. Nothing at all.
20 seconds in, just as she realises what she's done, I completely change the subject. Like nothing happened:
e.g. "I am going to the petrol station, want anything from there?".
This establishes the taboo. Every girl gets this.
This dead silence followed by changing subjects works for a lot of things as well to signal what you find annoying.
Terminal-Psychosis 6y ago
Yup, just complete non-response. Not positive, not negative, absolute Null.
Any response will just encourage such inappropriate behavior.
Unless they're obviously trying to start shit with such, and in that case, a couple days of null might be in order.
Bear-With-Bit 6y ago
Even better than my suggestion.
[deleted] 6y ago
Could you elaborate on this?
I generally just agree & amplify during situations like this. What are the advantages of dead silence?
mrpthrowa 6y ago
Girls hate awkwardness and tension. That silence is devastating to them because in those 20 seconds, scratch that, for several days afterwards, they'll think they have created an awkward weird cringey situation and will not do that again.
Think of cringy stuff you've done in the past and how it still makes you recoil. That's what that silence does to them.
NightwingTRP 6y ago
The more pertinent question is why have you LTR'd a chick with such a massive red flag flying from the top of her head?
smirk_addict 6y ago
Came here to comment the same. She sounds immature and why are you giving your commitment to someone that was content to be somebody's else Fuck Buddy/FWBs? Even if you are one of those guys that doesn't care, it doesn't sound like she's grown any.
900_year_old_vampire 6y ago
oh man that sounds fuckin annoying. at first its just a shit test, a pretty common one. just a little poke to see how you react. if shes doing it repeatedly though, maybe she just doesnt actually have anything else to talk about. she needs a fuckin hobby man. ive never experienced that, id probably just not respond at all though. when she says stuff like that just zone her out, no reaction no response, as if she never even said it at all and in those moments when she wants to talk about her prior fucks, shes actually just invisible. not in a salty way either.. once she changes the subject or says something else, respond normally and go back to normal. i am sure i would ignore that nonsense though instead of entertaining/encouraging her with responses

I did this to my second bf when I was 14 because I didn’t know any better and barely knew how to talk to boys. I can’t imagine doing this as an adult and having an adult man putting up with it. My 14 year old bf didn’t haha.

It's a tricky thing bro.
Women think pre selection is power and attraction, so the naive ones will brag about it. Yours is naive about it.
You can't really be overt about being annoyed by it because EVERY woman reads this as "he's insecure and needs to be protected from my sacred sexuality".
Women will take AGES to associate the punishment you give them with the behavior because they feel they're not doing anything wrong, they're just mildly bragging.
My first approach to it was telling her to stfu about it, embrace the loss of attraction and live with it. My relationship sucked ass, maybe also because of that.
I'm planning on taking an alternate approach here. "Would you like to hear about the trips and good times I shared with my long term ex?"
Women will get annoyed that you offered other women MORE for their commitment than you're offering them, we get annoyed that they offered sex for less. I'm hoping pressing their annoying switch will send the message without causing the high value loss... But I'm just hoping.

I have been toying with a similar idea but haven't had a need to implement it yet about telling them anecdotes about my past adventures with other girls when they won't shut up about their past.
I did have a girlfriend that I went into a Victoria Secret with years ago and picked up a type of lingerie she didn't wear and said "these look familiar." She made a real upset face at that. Later she wanted to make a pact to never mention past people to each other and she stood by it.
quicklogaccount 6y ago
That must have been fun...
If it worked it went nice.
BasketCase559 6y ago
That's basically an A&A response, which could work. STFU could work too. All about delivery i think.
Another more extreme A&A approach could be an obviously sarcastic/exaggerated "Wow! That's amazing! Tell me more!" followed by a completely straight face.
quicklogaccount 6y ago
I tried A&A with a Tinderella bro, she read as over reactive and I lost value...
Shit's tricky. She feels like she's giving DHVs, not shit testing.
BasketCase559 6y ago
Definitely tricky. There's a fine line. I'd say just ignore it unless it really becomes an issue. If it's a DHV in her mind, at least you know she has the urge to prove herself to you.
TxnyMontana 6y ago
That's disrespectful as fuck. My LTR wouldnt tell me those stuffs because she knows its wrong and i'll soft next her.
At this point, (even when I think dudes should act instead of talk) you gotta settle a boundarie in wich is not ok to talk about exes. After that, if she breaks it you know what to do.
Anyway it seems weird to me. Do you talk about your ex with her? Are you sure she is over him?
The__Tren__Train 6y ago
who cares? she's not yours, it's just your turn.
honestly, if the story was insufferably boring, I would say something like "wow, that's was a pretty boring story"
if the story was interesting (IE, the relationship was interesting to me), I'd probably ask questions about it... moral of the story is, even your LTR should be nothing more than a plate to you.
VasiliyZaitzev 6y ago
You really have to drive the point home with your own tales, but they have to be completely over the top:
"Y'know, that reminds me of my old girlfriend LaQueefa...she was fucking crazy, but she loved to rim my ass. She was REALLY into it. Dove right in, and jammed her tongue in as far as it would go...that was fucking A-MAZE-ING. Almost made up for her being a quadriplegic..."
If you want something more subtle, fondly reminisce about the time that you and she did some wonderful thing together and then "remember" at the end that it really wasn't her, but an ex. That makes them CRAZY.
-HeartOfDark- 6y ago
Silence and ignore.
Irishminer93 6y ago
Ignore and change topic can work, but honestly, I just say "hon, you've told me this story a thousand times already. It's getting old." But then again, my ltr isn't the type to get butt hurt over that.

I'd say each time she does that give her a "wtf u doin" look and walk away. Don't explain to her how you want her to behave-- simply punish the bad behavior. When she asks you "so you don't like it when I talk about my ex?" grab her, bend her over your lap, and slap her bare ass as hard as you can.
