What was your motivation for leaving? What were the results? (financially or otherwise)
I'm curious to hear from anyone who has gone down this path

Yes. I've started two, as well. Do you really believe the idea has what it takes to become a unicorn? And be honest, you will know the answer. What are your life goals? Do you have any responsibilities? Will it crush you if you sink 3 years into it for it to (for the most part inevitably) fail, all while getting paid less than you can get elsewhere?
Basically, if you're young and doing it for the experience, and really want to see the idea exist in this world, then go for it. If you're doing it to get rich, well, there's a lot better ways of doing it.

Thank you for your insight. I'm at that crossroads where I've spent a bit of time in a corporate and am considering starting my own thing.
How did you cope with cashflow while you got yourself up and running? Were you working a normal job too?

If one wants to be rich which path would you advice to follow?

Most of them require a degree, don't they?
[deleted] 8y ago
You cannot seriously believe that

I am because I'm clueless, therefore I was asking a question and expected an answer that doesn't resemble "lolno" and actually dive deeper.

If you do end up leaving the job, make sure you have a solid plan in place for what you are going to do. One of my friends left a 9-5 making 75k a year to "find himself" and ended up spending the subsequent time going to concerts and festivals, drinking, and doing cocaine for about a year. As of now he is being forced to go back to another 9-5 because his savings went from 30k to 1500. I would do your business part time while continuing to work, and if the business starts picking up, then think about leaving your job.

Be like a woman when it comes to this kind of thing.
Branch swing. See how far you can go with your startup while working the day-job.
This will most probably mean outsourcing stuff, but this can be done easily and relatively cheaply. Depends on the type of work obviously but there are always people willing to do work for the kind of compensation you are offering. You might not get the best, but good enough is still better than "not done".

I wouldn't leave your daytime job. I'm just an accounting student without a lot of real world experience, but my family knows a lot of successful people. None of them ever quit their job until the startup was getting a sustainable revenue stream. Just my two cents

Three times. Best decision each time. No regrets.

Yes.
I'm in a start-up and working on my own to kick off.
I left because I want to achieve more than sitting in an office 9-5 working 2 hours a day.
As results I'm making more money and reduced bullshit time wastes almost to zero. I work when I decide to work.
dayman-v-nightman 8y ago
That is exactly what attracts me to this path the most. But you really have to be so self motivated don't you, how did you manage the stress of knowing you were responsible at the end of the day and noone was going to be there to give you a pay cheque?
[deleted] 8y ago
I don't really care about failure.
I should mention the start-up I left for was making some money off consulting already so we have enough money in the bank to work on a product. If you do something but don't make money off of that it's called a hobby, not a start-up.
In the end if you empty your pockets you can still go back to some random company and try again later. Between the two try working as a freelancer.

I'm sure trying to better yourself is also covered by theredpill. Not just sexual strategy. How bored were you that you had to go out of your way to say this shit when you could have just let it go? Or let the mods handle it?
dayman-v-nightman 8y ago
I believe it's still relevant. If you think swallowing the pill is just about banging as many chicks as you can, you're short sighted and missing the point.
TRP is about overall betterment, whether it be women, health, or financial. Questions relating to the gym are regarded as okay, so why aren't financial ones?
This sub is about successful men helping others succeed in life, or am I mistaken.
