75 - [TheRedPill] As hobbies: Why video games or watching netflix are bad and programming and dancing are great.

[-] Diablo-D3 18 Points 7 months ago

I disagree on the 1 hour part, that's the weird thinking all of our mothers tried to bang into our heads, along with "just pause" (but its a multiplayer game, Mom!)

Its more like, do one achievable goal per run. Maybe this is a chapter or segment of a single player game, maybe it is a single speedrun attempt on a shorter 2-3 hour game, maybe play 10 rounds of Quake (no matter if you win or lose, or if the rounds are short or excessively long).

Do something that is meaningful to you. Video games are an art form and part of our collective culture, just as much as TV, movies, music, and reading are. An hour of video games isn't really a meaningful exercise, in most cases.

The rest of what you said, I do agree with, quality over quantity.

And his wife left him. I think TRP declared him King Cuck, Emperor of the Blue Pills when the news broke. I guess that means all Red Pills are leader material, but not all leaders are Red Pill material.

0 - [TheRedPill] ‘I Want What My Male Colleague Has, and That Will Cost a Few Million Dollars’

[-] Diablo-D3 6 Points 10 months ago

Former Salk employees generally agree the Institute is “clubby” and run by a few powerful men. But it’s a question, for some of the men, at least, whether gender is the most important criterion for entry. “To be perfectly honest, I didn’t see it affecting women more than men,” a former junior faculty member — a man who worked there for nine years — told me. (He requested anonymity to preserve working relationships at the Salk.) “It was just the way the Salk worked. There were a few people who had very good connections with the Salk office, and then other people were not put out in front of donors.” He, too, was forced to fire staff, he said, even though he knew one of his colleagues, who had the same amount of funding and many more employees, was not.

“There was a general suspicion that a small number of people were benefiting a lot from certain donors or funding agencies,” another male former faculty member said. “I never felt discriminated against. I just felt like I wasn’t on the gravy train.”

So, the article spends a lot of time describing things that also happen to men, but only two paragraphs out of several dozen, because feminist issues are the new clickbait and NYT knows it brings in the eyeballs.

It is a woman outing women on their shit, giving an extreme, but TRP relevant, case to illustrate her points.

Also, lifting is nature's ADHD meds. Just throwing that out there.

467 - [TheRedPill] Get your vitamin D levels checked

[-] Diablo-D3 3 Points 5 months ago

When someone says Vitamin D, without a number after, they mean D3. There are (at least) 5 vitamers of D, and D3 is the only one important for human biology; mushrooms are high in D2, and the body converts D2 directly to D3, and the old D2 products on the market have been long replaced with D3 due to improvements in manufacturing techniques.

72 - [TheRedPill] The Atlantic blames the Manosphere for mass shootings. "Ironically, it simultaneously claims that: All right minded people today support feminism, [only dangerous and insane people oppose feminism.] AND Feminism is not a powerful force in our society. [It's an insane conspiracy theory.]"

[-] Diablo-D3 3 Points 6 months ago

I actually sort of agree with what the Atlantic is saying, you're Right-minded if you support feminism, as in, you're Right-wing... politics in America is one giant circle, if you go Left far enough, you end up on the Right, and that's a pretty dangerous place to be.

What I'm trying to say is, The Atlantic is, correctly, claiming Feminism is the same thing as Alt-Right Neonazis.

453 - [TheRedPill] Tyler Durden Philosophy

[-] Diablo-D3 2 Points 5 months ago

Purple pill is a term that describes people like Cipher, people who know the truth but are willing to sell out everybody else to get reinserted into the Matrix, because they can't handle the truth but you can't unknow things. The agents were willing to string Cipher along to get what they wanted, and then left him to die because he was trying to play both sides.

As a metaphor used by TRP community, it's pretty self-explanatory and very functional: using female tactics knowingly against both men and women as a beta male isn't a working tactic, feminists will use you and then discard you when you have served your purpose.

[-] Diablo-D3 2 Points 7 months ago

I simply think he over complicated a rather simple subject

There are two kinds of things in your life: things you enjoy, things you don't enjoy. Those get put into two, further, categories: ones worth improving, ones not currently blocking improvements in the previous category[1].

For things you do not enjoy, you either have decided to stop tolerating it's existence in your life and are willing to focus on that, or you have decided it's time has not yet come and will persist in the background for now.

For things you DO enjoy, you have either decided that it is worth enjoying them, or you have decided that you have derived enough enjoyment from them for now and something better has popped up on your radar and you're perusing that.

Men decide things, it's what we have habituated ourselves into doing over the thousands of years of our existence. Either decide, or the worst option will be chosen for you by default. Guys don't have faults per se, they have chronic indecisionitis which leads to waffling on owning your shit.

[1]: As per TRP dogma, things are always worth improving, including yourself.

[-] Diablo-D3 2 Points 6 months ago

I'm not sure whats worse, the fact you didn't pick up on the obvious satire, or the fact that you're apparently defending feminism (?!) by claiming I'm a leftist apologist because I called them out for being indistinguishable from the alt-right.

To make it more obvious: No, The Atlantic is not actually claiming Feminism is part of the alt-right, as that is a large part of their readership, and they are doomed to pander to that rather vocal segment.

I am aware, however, political discourse in America doesn't really understand that (at least, with most average Americans), and that there are also no real good examples of successful governments (as in, no Communists) that embody "left-wing authoritarianism", although certainly there are individual groups that embody that.

So, in lieu of a more nuanced public discourse, the Horseshoe theory seems to fit well enough.
